Popular Post El Presidente Posted December 13, 2021 Popular Post Posted December 13, 2021 FOH International Blind Tasting Competition: Cigar Number 5 . Preparation Review on this thread Cigar Number 5 and send your pick to Lisa by Sunday 19th of December. You are encouraged to post your review on Cigar number 5 on this thread. However, keep your guess to yourself. 1. You will e-mail Lisa your nomination for that cigar by Sunday the 19th. Now you can smoke all the cigars and email Lisa the results but we will be revealing cigars 1-5 over successive weeks. You get your picks in by the end of Sunday your time and we will post the results by the following Tuesday (time differences etal). Important This year three of the 5 cigars are aged (5 years +). For a bonus half point, you at the time of your email to lisa need to nominate if the cigar is one of the three aged cigars. You only have three chances to nominate a cigar as aged. If you do not nominate then it will be recorded as non aged by default. Yes, to gain a half point bones you also must have selected the cigar correctly. Once emails are sent there will be no alteration to your selections. Late entries will not be accepted. Enjoy 5

I've gotten 80+ minutes for a Petit Corona at times too (Siglo 2 and PLPC tend to be denser) but smoking time is very variable for me depending on the draw. 3
Chibearsv Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 Ok, done with no. 5. Here’s what I got cold aroma was slightly floral, a little sour, and peppery tasty sweet and twangy tobacco taste before lighting medium body musty newspaper, sourdough, pepper, hint of spice Bitter burnt coffee and slight dried fruit sweetness Strong nicotine strength at the end, slight fruit, spice, and toast Overall an ok smoke but very hard to peg down. I’m 50/50 on this one 4
Boxer31 Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 #5 blind taste Aroma earthy mushroom, sourdough Nice draw After lightning little cedar, but mostly earth and mushrooms, little spice as well. Burn and draw remain excellent. Getting a little coffee flavor now, mushroom disappeared, still some earth. Chilly Sat afternoon (10 days ago) and now I am sorry did not pair with a nice rum or bourbon. Still getting a roasted coffee aroma but not on taste. More earth,forest/wood and mushroom flavor is back. A little saltiness but not too much. Rye bread flavor towards end. Solid 95. Probably the best of the lot. Going aged on this one as well. 4
mbrody Posted December 18, 2021 Posted December 18, 2021 It’s going to get colder so tonight’s the night for cigar 5. Cold draw is milk chocolate. Draw is tight…first third is tight. There’s a knot at the last third. This is going to be a short review. Struggling to get through the first third. I just put it down and grabbed a Medio Siglo to set things straight…oh well, it’s just part of the game. 1
Popular Post RichG Posted December 18, 2021 Popular Post Posted December 18, 2021 General characteristics I got throughout in different combinations were: Salt, wood, caramel, raw cocoa, coffee, cream. Plan on riding this one in for a glorious 0/5! 2 3
Nevrknow Posted December 18, 2021 Posted December 18, 2021 Right off the bat I knew this was a Nice draw, not to firm, no wind tunnel. First 1/3 I got a lot of…. 2/3 it developed into some… last 3rd it definitely turned into some…. This was an easy guess. I sincerely hope my review doesn’t give it away. 😎 2 1

I felt exactly the same way. If I end up being wrong, I'm going to sell all my cigars on Bond Roberts and take up a different hobby/vice 😂. 2

nKostyan Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 I can't write much about the taste of this cigar, except woody-spicy. Quite a complex taste. It is worth noting that it has a high nicotine strength, so I make a choice by strength, whether the bet will win. 2 1
Popular Post CptGoodTimes Posted December 19, 2021 Popular Post Posted December 19, 2021 Cigar #5 : I have had quite a few of these, I think, over last year. This toothy specimen was a delight. I pretty much got some light sweet cocoa and sour bell pepper. Where that leads, who knows. 🤪 After starting out a hot 2 for 2, I’m now starring in Frozen. So I’m just gonna Let it go…let it go…let it go. 5
coug28 Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Don’t foresee these jumping off the shelves on 24:24 after the reveal based on these reviews…. Sign me up for a box of sure-fire 85 pointers….said no one, ever lol 1 2
Chas.Alpha Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 7 day work week before the holidays prevented me from even lighting this, but since my entry had to be in today... I voted for what Rob and Ken gave as their tasting notes. Hell, it worked for @Bijan!!! Got home just in time to continue my 5 engine bash of the Estes Saturn V. This toy doesn’t qualify as a high powered rocket, but it’s fun. I’ll burn it after dinner tonight and see if I guessed wrong. 1 1

Too bad.
