Preparation Review review on this thread Cigar Number 3 and send your pick to Lisa by Sunday 5th of December. You are encouraged to post your review on Cigar number 3 on this thread. However, keep your guess to yourself. 1. You will e-mail Lisa your nomination for that cigar by Sunday the 5th. Now you can smoke all the cigars and email Lisa the results but we will be revealing cigars 1-5 over successive weeks. You get your picks in by the end of Sunday your time and we will post the results by the following Tuesday (time differences etal). Important This year three of the 5 cigars are aged (5 years +). For a bonus half point, you at the time of your email to lisa need to nominate if the cigar is one of the three aged cigars. You only have three chances to nominate a cigar as aged. If you do not nominate then it will be recorded as non aged by default. Once emails are sent there will be no alteration to your selections. Late entries will not be accepted. Popular Post RichG
Smoked this back on the 11th. Wish like hell I had dry boxed it, phenomenal smoke nonetheless. Notes below: Cut twice and perfecdraw to teeth depth for acceptable flow. Cocoa and dry hay aroma. Big sweetness immediately upon lighting probably caramel. A few more draws confirm that the caramel was a mischaracterization and is more fruit or floral sweetness. Cherry in fact, with woodiness on the retro. Continuing into the second third, wood and fruit, mellowing into a creamier more blended version from prior. The woody character has the lightest saltiness to it. Fruit and honey picks up and the balanced, subtle blended character of this smoke is phenomenal. Halfway through the draw has become tight and unmanageable. Through some overzealous poking with the draw tool I fear I have gone too deep and introduced a bitterness to the smoke. The woodiness is now at the forefront along with a burnt bitterness and the fruit has subsided to the background. Going into the final third it has turned to a dark roasted coffee with berry undertones. It seems I have been given reprieve from my excess prodding as the darkness has subsided into a subtle blend of coffee and fruit. As you can see from the double rainbow in the first photo this smoke was divine! 93/100

LordAnubis
I know what it is! its a belicosos!!! For me it was a lot of woody and earthy notes, mine had slight hints of fruit and dark chocolate. Box press, not that that matters for this one.

Popular Post DaBoot
Lighting- very mellow, muted. No outline flavor 1st third- pepper creeping in, spice, nutmeg, cinnamon 2nd third- woody ,spice, still below medium, very mild smoke, not a lot of output Final third- needs relight, burn issues getting hot and bitter ,, quick purge and it’s back. Wanna say salty, woody, white pepper, still below medium to me. Then it dies with 2in to go, pitched it Score 85
Popular Post Boxer31
#3 blind taste Great look and feel. Review from the 9th. Already submitted my guess with the first two and not going to change. greeted by the familiar aroma of earth, leather cocoa some barnyard and my favorite stout. I got this one 100 % or pretty sure as the commercial says. Just in case brought in my pup to help keep me focused since first one way off. After learning the first, I am second guessing myself, El Pres would not pick this one one but going to stay with my first choice after getting #2 correct (this isnt that hard - lol) Smooth right from the start off chocolate candy bar made with Guinness. No rough edges here. Then start to pick up some leather but again not harsh. I hope am getting this one correct otherwise know nothing what I am talking about!!! After all this is one of my regular favorites. More of that stout and now some cream and cookie dough. This has to be an aged one. 94-95 for me.
dominattorney
I smoked on thr Costa Rican Beach yesterday afternoon. I only know enough to guess which one this isn't. I haven't had the kther two bellicoso in production, so blind punt. But a thoroughly enjoyable smoke and will buy a box of whatever this turns out to be.
Popular Post Chibearsv
1st third - Bitter 2nd third - some sweet, slight floral, tiny bit of bitter Final third - a mix of the first 2 thirds Retrohale throughout was strong pepper The middle third had some familiarity but the start and finish are uncharacteristic of the cigar I'd pick. This one's the toughest so far for me.
MigsG
Smoked cigar #3 about 2 weeks ago one cold evening. Per my notes: Sweet nectar, oh so sweet all throughout. No thirds here. This is a wonderful mellow cigar. I was so engrossed in the creamy sweetness of the cigar I didn’t take a decent photo. 😄 It’s got to be either an RyJ Belicosos, or an aged San Cristobal La Punta. Some RyJ Belicosos I’ve had had such a light creamy hyper sweet flavor like this cigar. An aged La Punta can develop such a creamy sweet flavor as well, although maybe not quite as mellow - I haven’t smoked a ton of aged La Punta to be certain though. I’d leave out BBF or the Sancho Panza Belicosos, this cigar had none of those marcas’ usual characteristics.

Zaxeiler
This one was interesting. I suspect it’s a marca that I’ve only had in the petit corona size - but it had a very similar note.
