Rhinoww Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 I have one of the Big Easy grid ashtrays I leave out at my pool. It’s good at keep ash under control, but when it rains it oddly it stains a hammered copper cover I have on a fire pit/table. Should have a covered porch finished in a few weeks. I want to be sure to control ash blowing around on the new furniture and not stain the coffee table so I’m looking for another option. the Stinky cigar ashtrays look decent in stainless. Wondering if there is another large wind proof/resistant ashtray I should look at. Thanks for the input brothers and sisters.

Or my laptop…. But when it makes it to the ashtray, this is the one I usually use. I love it and it allows me to stack ashes and butts for days (because I’m a lazy sumbitch who doesn’t clean it out daily). Reynaldo (maybe Alex) Salomones for size reference. 7
djrey Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 The grass for me. If I need to be clean I use a stinky ashtray. 1
Focal_Banger Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 I use a red solo cup. It works fine until I tip it over.
Digi Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 I use a Xikar Wave. The slanted/slotted design is nice, making it hard for the cigar to be bumped/blown in or out of the ash tray. Usually though, it's the FOH cigar stand close by and the ash tray further away . 1
Lomey Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 I use a Stinky ashtray. Keeps the ash from blowing out and I don't have to empty it after every cigar. It keeps the ashes off my cigar. I hate when I get spent ash on my cigar. My wife also likes that she can't really see or smell the ashes the next morning after my evening cigar when she comes out on the deck. 2

I have a few of them for different smoking areas and they are great.
El Presidente Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 For home, my Hamlet ashtray. On the deck we use Stinky's 3
Bijan Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 The ground for the ashes. My deck is just concrete squares on the ground and the rain washes the ashes away. The butts I put in a metal watering can I empty once every couple of months. 4
Rhinoww Posted July 1, 2021 Author Posted July 1, 2021 For those w the Stinky ashtrays, did you go regular or tall?
Lomey Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 For those w the Stinky ashtrays, did you go regular or tall? I've had mine for years so Idon't remember ordering it, but I'm pretty sure it's the tall. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

dobbs Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 this thing is the best, i have three: no chance of the cigar tipping and falling out of the ashtray, it's heavy so it stays put, the glass is nearly impervious to weathering and can be polished if needed, and i think it looks good. bought on etsy, no idea where else to get one. -dobbs 3
Cigar Surgeon Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Stinky floor standing ashtray with the tray addon and the ash knocker addon has been my standard for many, many years now. 2

Popular Post Habana Mike Posted July 2, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 2, 2021 This is my best for windproof. The lip keeps the ashes in all the time. 5 1
Popular Post Chibearsv Posted July 2, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 2, 2021 My mother brought this to me when she was in town in June. it’s my grandfather’s pipe tobacco humidor that he dented purposely as a pipe rest. Works great in the wind because of the lip and a lid when not in use. I love it. Grandpa died in the early 60s when I was too young to remember him. I love picturing him puffing away while I’m puffing away. 13 2

Popular Post Nino Posted July 3, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 3, 2021 While I have many ashtrays incl. a nice brass Stinky I mostly use this one. The top is from an ashtray I bought in Mexico City and the the wood was replaced with old wood from a wine vat. 7
Zaxeiler Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 I too am in the grass/ground category when it comes to being outside. Rain washes away. Butts cool on the deck railing, then eventually go to the trash. 2
Rhinoww Posted July 13, 2021 Author Posted July 13, 2021 Figured I should close the first round on this thread. Ended up getting a deep stinky. Additional ashtrays to come but since I have been smoking sticks on my u set construction porch I have noticed a frequent breeze so thought this was a good start. And then there are all my mates threatening my wife that they will be over every night for a cigar so I needed some volume for the ashes. went w the classic stainless (over iron apparently). Will see how this weathers. 2
