If i had to choose, I would go with Siglo 6, Piramides (Robusto) and a smaller vitola maybe Sig 2. Lusitanias are also great, I was about to edit my first post when I saw that table. Also, many of the vitolas noted in the chart above are hard, if not impossible, to find, (Partagas 898, Trinidad Fundadores, Punch Double Corona). IMHO, the following are the “best” mid-range priced cigars to set aside for aging that really shine after 5 years. None of them are monster ring gauge, Churchill’s, or Double Coronas. They are all packed with flavor and can be smoked in a modest amount of time. 1. Por Laranaga Petit Coronas 2. H Upmann Connoisseur No. 1 3. Juan Lopez Selection No. 1 4. Bolivar Petit Coronas 5. Montecristo Number 4 6. H Upmann Mag 46 7. Punch Punch 8. Partagas Shorts in a 50 cab If you want some larger cigars to add to the mix, here are some that also do great with age, but won’t break the bank. 1. Montecristo No. 2 2. Romeo Y Julieta Churchill 3. Bolivar Belicosos Finos Lots of good thoughts in the thread above, but this is just what I know now, that I wish I knew a long time ago. It took me a while to get all this sorted out. I wish I would have stayed away from Limited Editions, Regional Editions, and expensive boxes at first. They take up a lot of space, don’t end up getting smoked, and if not stored in ideal conditions, aren’t all that great. CaptainQuintero Posted November 22, 2020 Share Posted November 22, 2020 I'm not sure if it applies to you but I'd consider the possibility that you might not like aged cigars. They can change significantly, certainly in terms of smoking style before you get to the flavours. If you enjoy the rambunctious fresh style of PLPC etc then you might very disappointed opening up a box you've been sat on for 5+ years. They loose that 'in your face' vigour you might be so fond of. You might be better off simply buying little and more often so your stock is 1-2 years old depending on how you enjoy certain cigars.
