No doubt that your preference has probably changed, but if you have smoked only 1 NC it’s hard to tell. I’d say about 90% of my stash is CC, but there are some pretty nice NC’s out there. I’d suggest you try a few more singles at your local B&M before you decide.

I have a cooler full of NC cigars, some going back years. Regardless, I rarely reach for one.

I'd ask if the NC you smoked was one you liked before?

I only smoke Cubans now. I had god knows how many non Cubans . Sold some, gave away plenty. They took up too much room in my Vintecs . FOH drew me to Cubans.

It  would take something special for me to go back. I find most non Cubans bloody awful these days . Hopefully the new stuff coming may change that a little .

I wish I had found foh right after I found my local b&m. Would have saved me thousands on "useless" NC from online sites.

This is spot on. I love cubans more, way more! However, a padron or opus can really be amazing. The opus x love affair I have are complete cherry bombs.

Same here. I thought I would only smoke CC once I had the "aha" Cuban cigar moment but between a slow growing CC inventory and just looking for something different I find I smoke NC's about 20% of the time.

I started with NC's and went to CC's rather quickly.  All my bad cigars experiences, were NC's.  From outright poisoning to stained fingers and lips.  I have respect for many NC makers and wish them continued success. But they are not for me.

It’s been a few months since I smoked an NC. Might try one of the many remaining Avo syncro now aging in my cooler in a month or so. It was my go to for over a year. But in the end I’m hooked on the cc right now. Hope that doesn’t change for a while. I have 1-2 years of cc stick on hand now ?

*Of course! My go to cigar when I first became an aficionado was Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibre, maduro. Years later when I was finally Blessed by The Lord to be able to stock up on Havanas, I tried sampling my good old standby from years back and was heavily and mightily reviled: I went, "AAARRRGGGGHHH!!! This tastes like DIRT!" My co-worker at my old job in Atlanta is a cigar lover, and had been way before he met me. I'd provided him with a plenteous store of Havanas to enjoy when I was able to acquire them. He then told me some time afterwards that, "Y'know it's kinda hard to go back to my old cigars I'd been smoking now that I'm used to these!" Same response from others I'd blessed with them. They all agreed that the only set back about our beloved Cubans was that after a point the ones we'd been smoking previously just didn't "do it" for us anymore. Oh well - no real let down for me! Plus some of today's NC's are actually making a pretty good showing for themselves i.e. Andalusian Bull, Oliva V Melanio series, Padron 46th Anniversario, Warped, etc. :cigar:

I have few NC in the humidor. All are long time favorites. All are aged to mellow them out. They make for a nice change of pace

The only reason i have NCs in my humidor is because i need to purchase a few if i want to smoke a cc in my local cigar lounge. Every once in awhile i will dip into them if i am walking around in town or whatever. I am sometimes surprised by how good an Avo, padron 2000 or a Oliva can be as a change of pace cigar.

I have a lot of NC left, that I rarely smoke. If its not a padron, fuente, illusione, or some other boutique brand, I usually end up tossing it. I entered the NC world the same way I entered the CC's world, full throttle straight off the deep end lol.

Similar situation with me. Forgetting the NC’s for a while and occasionally revisiting them has me convinced they experience an aging evolution like CC’s. Once in a while now I light up a NC that now has 3 or 4 years on it and offensive has turned into quite good. Still waiting for my boxes of AF Anejos to become special after almost 5 years....they’re definitely moving in that direction.

Of course! Because I’m a noob and those 15 boxes of CC I bought need some rest time so I’m forced to smoke my NC until then.

I was similar when I was a kid. Enjoyed smoking both, got a good pipeline for CC so went down that path for a while vwith nary a whiff of an NC. It was the much bigger range in flavour and intensity that drew me back to smoking more NC's again. Variety is the spice of life.

When I discovered CCs, I never looked back. But now after 4 years, I'm starting to try some NC Maduros. Just the Maduros, there aren't enough CC Maduros for variety.

I love both! Well, mostly Illusione for NC's. Try a Fume D' Amour Lagunas, or Concepcions with 2-3 years of age, its a crazy tastey cigar.

I have some ten year old plus Anejos and they are a great change of pace when you in the mood for a maduro.     Another old (ten year plus) NC that has been a pleasant surprise (given how cheap they were) are the Oliva Cain Maduros.
