  1. 1. Forgetting their sequels, and knowing that you can keep only one from being erased from history, which film do you choose to keep?

This week on 50/50, it's original films that spawned sequels going up the flag poll. You know the drill: read the question, vote on the poll, elaborate in the thread if you so desire. Voting participants go into the draw for an El Pres sampler! - Drawn next Wednesday (Aus local time). :spotlight:

All about 50/50...

50/50 is a weekly poll where we find out whether or not some serious bones of contention questions can be finally be buried or will instead remain above ground as a fleshy 50/50 debate... you know, such weighty issues as these...

If given no other option:

do you prefer Hunnicutt or Trapper in M*A*S*H?

Connery or Moore as Bond?

Apple or PC?

Smooth or Crunchy peanut butter?

do you prefer wearing men's or women's underwear?

 Sacrificing chickens or virgins?

...that sort of standard fare.

Vote in the poll and further bolster your standpoint in the thread below if you wish. Poll Votes are public and there's a couple of sticks up for grabs for participants.

Also, PM me Polls that you'd like me to conduct on 50/50 and there'll be a prize for those we decide to use.

The Matrix was good, but convoluted to me. Just too much to understand with only one viewing until the sequels. Mad Max, however, was in your face action all the way.

This is the first 50/50 where I can't pick a side. Both movies are excellent. Quite different, for sure, but I can't jettison either of them.  Just can't do it. The world deserves both.

Mad max for sure matrix was very underwhelming just never could get into them.

Maxy boy for sure...I actually thought this would be a landslide in its favour...It is what makes these polls very interesting  ...John how could you ?

The Matrix for sure.  Its release was right around the time we as humans were just starting to become completely reliant on computers and machines and the digital age really became apparent to our collective future.  The film really hit home with me of our new digital world

The Matrix, just for the Lobby scene. No CGI was used for the scene, just old fashioned special effects. And Carrie Ann Moss did her own wire work.

The alternative, a movie about some guy named Max... who's a bit a mad about something.

Wouldn't be that bothered either way TBH, but voted for Mad Max.  The Matrix just never clicked for me.

Got to be the Matrix, I remember watching it loads when it came out. I thought the latest Mad Max was superior to the original

Loved the origanal max...not the new one....but the matrix might be the only movie to totay blow me away. I must have gone to the theater 5 times to watch it (even tho it was clear the 1st showing). Its not just winning this poll but goes down as my all time favorite flick, shame they f'd up the sequels.

Now, that said....,  if you threw in Arnold's predator movie we have a bit of  a challange

Oh please - Mad Max, while mildly entertaining, isn't even in the same universe as the Matrix (pun intended) ;)

Only a geographically biased person could have come up with this :lookaround:

Love fury road, but that would be a different poll. Original mad max is great but I have to admit I like it more for nostalgia.

Rewatched matrix recently and was blown away by how good it is.  Especially for the time.  The dumb gimmick of dejavu still makes me tingle for some reason.  Love that "what if" sci fi

Have to stick with the red pill to stay in Wonderland and see how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

Matrix for sure - different level!

Mad Max was fun, but The Matrix was a new way if looking at the world.  In terms of lasting import, I go with Matrix by a mile.
