Aged tobacco is used for all cigars!

Average leaf extract by types
Since 2006, Habanos has set minimum exposure aging times for different leaves for their cigars:

Filling..........Ligero - 3 years old

Filling..........Seco - 2 years old

Filling..........Volado - 1 year old

Binding........ - 1 year old

Wrapper.....minimum - 1 year old

Wrapper.....Limited Editions - 2 years old

Maduro wrapper.....for Maduro cigars (Cohiba, Partagas)- 5 years old

Yet to find any of the fore mentioned cigars at that price. Those prices line up with yul prices in Cuba. You either live in Cuba or visit a lot! Lol

I love the LCDH blends but those are for sure the ones you find at double the price in cube vs other reg production that you can get at close to the same price as  in cuba if you watch out for good deals.

Maybe the cost through the distributors is higher on the LCDH than the reg productions for resellers but they are always good none the less.

Higher price point? Ramon Allones Superiores are one of, it not the cheapest Corona Gorda's available at $5.60 a stick

I will admit that may be the best deal in Cuba. Shockingly low.

Not officially, but I think HSA has done a good job with their quality in general and are using top tier tobacco in them.

Yes, all prices on the island. I usually go twice a year.

I really don't know what resellers or online vendors charge for them. Was does an average box of Superiores run at an online vendor? Even though the baseline prices are low, I would imagine the markup is huge. With the production numbers leaning towards the low side and the fact that they are only available at LCDH's (Officially) I can understand why the prices would creep up a bit.

If I remember correctly, Rob has had some Superiores and even La Trova for sale before. I've seen LCDH exclusives for sale at other online retailers with no apparent connection to a physical LCDH. I'm not sure what happens behind the scenes to enable that availability, but it obviously adds cost to the equation.

If you watch and wait for deals, the cheapest I’ve been able to get the Superiores online for is $8 a stick. At that price I still think they are a fantastic value.

In general I am big fan of LCDH cigars and the rolling quality tends to be more consistent.  That part could be just me...  I have had a box of just about all the cigars mentioned above.

No, me neither. Maybe on special a few years ago or a 2-box deal special but good luck finding them for less than $10/stick these days.

Again, RAS seems to have one of--if not the--largest price disparity between Cuba and worldwide retail. The new QdO 50 & 54 are about 50% of worldwide retail and actually look like Cuba's best deal.

Yeh, online vendors, about double. Superiores are usually 110 range, la trova pushing 400, h upmann jars anywhere from 325 to 375. So yes,  quite the markup.

Same here. Notable exception is the HDM Elegantes - they just don’t do it for me.

Oh: and the original Noellas Jars. They put me off so much I haven’t even tried any of the later years. Harsh and metallic all the way, even after some years.
