You have a group of 3-4 mates popping over Saturday.  Game of poker and maybe a game of football post.  Everyone is pitching in dollar wise for the steaks, booze and cigars.  BUT YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE THE BOOZE AND CIGARS. IF IT IS A GROUP OF NON DRINKERS, NO PROBLEM, IMPROVISE B)

Based upon what you are enjoying currently..what is blowing you away.....what do you offer for cigars and beverage. You can provide no more than two options.  :wink2:

With cost a consideration for a group handout I'd probably go with RG Perlas for a small cigar and HU Connie 1 or Connie A for a larger cigar.

I was thinking maybe Trini Reyes for the small cigar but cost factors in and I think the Reyes might be wasted on a novice. The RG Perlas are plenty good for novice or expert alike and dirt cheap.

I know there's going to be a lot of Hoyo Epi, PSD, JL 1/2 and RASS in this thread but honestly, I believe Connie 1 and Connie A are just much better cigars right now.

I suppose HU Majestics might be another good option for a mid-size.

I just think dollar for dollar, HU is really overachieving and is a flavor profile that is really appealing to everyone.

Old Fashioneds with high quality bourbon/rye. I'd probably go with some Bolivar Belicosos Finos and Ramon Allones Gigantes for everyone....or maybe some Cohiba Siglo VI.

With the "boys" in the yard simple is best, rich cigars and sweet rum. Partagas p2 and zaccapa 23.

If we are trying to class it up, Cohiba lanceros and Krug.

All my friends like smaller ring gauge cigars.   Custom lanceros, fonseca no 1, or QDO coronas, Boli no 1  are the go to.  Occasionally, Monte especiales or Cola if we are celebrating.  Sazerac Rye, and Ardbeg ten = Rye old fashions and penicillins.

Monte #2 Petit

JL2s

Bought a few boxes of HUHC's to hand out. Some guys just aren't committed to longer smokes.

Centenario 20 Year Rum

Ron Diplomatico Reserva

I unwind just fine with a nice mug of black coffee or an espresso.

PSD4 and Ramon Allones Small Club Coronas, usually. And Havana Club 7 or cheap spanish brandy, just because they go so well with cigars.

So I would say since I'm not a drinker I have tried a Guinness loved it and left handed stout great beer.  You have talked about the BBF have Guinness like cream maybe a Connie 1 and Hoyo especial or a Hoyo no 2 with a couple years.  The creamy smoke would probably complement eachother nice.

H Upmann Connie A and Lot 40 Cask Strength to drink.

Connie A's quickly becoming a legend and the Lot 40 CS is a complete game changer for Canadian whisky. Tough to find but just an absolute cavalcade of flavour.

The experienced ones in the group get BBFs (POL Feb 11);  the novices get Sancho Panza Belis (PTR Oct 16). No one gets size envy.

Everyone gets to try and ooh-ahh over a Ben Nevis 1991 23 year old single cask malt, or Foursquare 2004 11 year old Exceptional Cask Selection Mark III rum.
