...we have "healthy friends" who love to bike/hike/anything outdoors and we have "drinking friends" which we will hook up with every Saturday now that its football season.

Been riding for over 35 years and don't know anyone to go biking with locally...  Would make it a lot more fun and I would go out for longer rides if someone was around.  After an hour or so, I get bored by myself on the road...  When I pass someone I give them the chance to either talk or try and catch up.  Usually they do neither...

Here's a few shots of last couple of pieces for my son's apartment. All from California Claro walnut harvested and rough milled by an old college buddy.  Entertainment center and his new dining table.

cigar - Rafael Gonzalez Perlas and El Rey del Mundo Demi Tasse  (main rotation)  music - David Bowie (from Hunky Dory 1971 to Scary Monsters 1980)  reading/TV/cinema - I'm going through

I'm into long walks on the beach at sunset, dancing in the moonlight, and world peace. My sign is Libra with a bad moon rising.

Cigar: Sampling and trying to grow my collection.

Music:  Jack White, Black Angels, Stooges

TV: My daughter loves Big Brother, so, I was "stuck" watching it.  Turns out, I now enjoy watching with her because she thinks my wise a## comments about the houseguests are funny.

Beverage: Mostly local brews.  Recently started sampling the Knob Creek collection

Hobby:  Now that its beginning to cool down...I will be ramping up my running mileage.  Starting back playing golf.  I had completely "lost" my swing

as I was trying to work on a fade for when I need it.  My natural swing was a draw.  I got frustrated and decided to take a few months break from the game.

Hmnmm,

Cigar: Anything corona size or skinny. Loving the HdM du Prince. And yes, knowing they're off the list, I've started stockpiling

Music: I'll listen to anything blues related. But went to see Yes 2 nights ago in concert. Now I can't get their old music from the 70s out of my head. A really great show. Rick Wakeman in a giant purple cape playing 8 or 9 different keyboards throughout the night was pretty cool.

TV: My sons have me hooked on a lot of the Marvel stuff that's out. Been watching the Daredevil series on Netflix.

Beverage: The craft beer revolution is alive and well in my kitchen. My latest is a nice Bavarian Hefeweizen. Tedious to make your own beer but surprisingly easy and fun to do.  My sons seem to appreciate it!

Hobby: I'm a huge woodworking geek.  Been building furniture for my youngest son for his new apartment (pictures available for anyone interested). Took a break from that to rebuild the dust collection system in my shop. The old system was spreading more dust than it was collecting. Installed a new 3hp cyclone and now running hard pipes throughout the shop to all my major tools (table saw, jointer, planer, etc). 9 different tools getting connected to the new system. It sounds like a jet engine when it fires up - I love it!  Doing a nice deep cleaning of the shop as I go. It's amazing the amount of crap that builds up in a workshop and the layer of dust in strange places after 26 years in the same shop. I"m also trying to learn guitar - my love of blues now extends to me trying to learn to play it. I've "mancaved" my son's old bedroom and put my guitars, amp and other noisemakers in there. Wife thinks I'm pretty crazy but after 31 years (just yesterday) she's used to it As long as I'm not underfoot and in her way, she let's me indulge my hobbies, including the cigar collection.

"Power of Habit" is another one, as is "Peak" that I'd argue have some parallels with Grit. I am not a huge reader in all honestly (though I watch even less TV) as I get bored easily and I read Grit nearly cover to cover without putting it down. That says a lot, if you're anything like me. May not be the deepest stuff but I find it interesting. I also like the Malcolm Gladwell stuff, though I have admittedly hardly read all of it (and it may not be exactly a "self help" book but I consider it kinda the same thing). I had someone I have a ton of respect for give me the book "Outliers" and I also read that without putting it down. People say it's a bit cheesy but I'm a simple guy!  Check those out if Grit ends up appealing to you.

Titos vodka, the best real ginger beer you can find, and a slice of lime. I've tried other flavors, but the original is the best. We use 2 shots of vodka. They are delicious and can easily sneak up on you!

We do both road and mountain...road is more dangerous because of where we are, too many meth-heads on the roads.  We have lots of mountain bike trails within 5 minutes to an hours drive.  I would rather mountain bike than road bike, to be honest, but I ride the road because of peer pressure. LOL

Cigar--Very very broad range--I am not proud to say curiosity got the best of me the other day and I bought a 5 cigars for $1 pack--terrible..but worth $1 to see if a likely lifetime supply would be worth it instead of a 50 Cab of Lusis..see recent purchases thread...

Music--Always listening to old hip hop/rap, Social D and Nirvana. When I take my kids to school we listen to some awful rap or Taylor Swift mostly it seems.

Reading--Simon Sinek for business, and re-reading Harry Potter for the 10th time.

TV--NFL and College Football, and whatever my family watches which usually seems to be The Walking Dead

Beverage--I don't drink but I've taken a liking to drinking a very very tiny amount of good Rum with cigars. Mostly Tea, Coke, and water.

Hobby--Golf and Cars
