CBL
I just went "over my books" and the worst boxes I've ever had were purchased three days apart. Hoyo du Roi, Edición Tent Pegs. Did everything I could to make them smokable, brought them with me when I went out, so I had something to smoke while drinking and because they would never break in my pocket. ERDM Demi Tasse. I have an excel sheet with all my boxes, box dates, prices, date purchased etc. etc. and all boxes are either marked 'full', 'smoking', or 'empty'. This box was marked 'tossed'. Didn't even try to find a good one, tried smoking three and gave up on the lot. Both were from the infamous 2000-2001 era, and you clearly get what you pay for.... Thrassos
Like CBL I had the same bad experiences with cigars from the 1999-2002 era. Nowadays I dont buy anything from that era anymore.
Zacapa
A box of partagas E2s have hands down been my worst Cuban cigars. They look fine construction fine but taste like a sub par Dominican: bland and tasteless. Thankfully it is only a 5 box because I was wetting my feet before diving in. I'm sure it must have been a dud box reading some other FOHers reviews. second is a box of dip 2s - nothing like the quality I've had in other dip 2s. Construction is fine but taste is washed out and bland. Coincidentally both these boxes did NOT come from our host
Smallclub
On one trip I found a 50 cab of Punch Royal Selection #11's that were oily and had a magical aroma.. The Royal Selection No.11 came only in cabinets of 25. The Super Selection No.1 (corona grande) and No.2 (corona gorda) came in SLB 50…
lbagak
The worst box I ever bought was a box of Romeo and Julieta Milles Fleurs. Beautiful contraction, band and wrappers. Nasty, nasty taste. I've been trying to finish them them off slowly and two years down the road it is still half full. Life is too short for nasty tasting cigars!! TheBaron
Monte No.5s. Acrid, bitter. I hate them. Wish I never bought them. Love the Monte marca as a general rule but these things taste like something out of an alley cat. Not that I'd know...
ramon_cojones
upmann 2s, no flavor when i got them in 2011, mild flavor now just a waste of my time smoking I think I got a dud box qdo coronas are not bad, just speaking relatively they are a couple notches above those along with my du gourmets that I'm hoping are just too young at the moment i've had terrible d4s in the past and bad coros/sig ivs as well on the other hand RA has never let me down my favorite marca hands down
bassman
Box of 2000 SLR Churchill. Couldn't get a single one to draw. More recently Cohiba Genios. Certainly didn't taste like Cohiba. Blah!
Scdalak
Cuaba Divinos, Small, plugged, Gimmick Shaped with flavor profile of Bug Spray... I save these for Family, Friends and Frank (Bundwallah)...
LGC
1999 Monte Especial. Got 2-3 out of the box to draw. Drilled the rest from both ends with a drill bit. The blend is also weak. The H&F stamp didn't do chit for quality. Won't use that vendor anymore.
duabley
USE NOV 11 Trinidad reys. They look OK but have little aroma and the flavor is bland and developes a strong sour/bitter taste. Unfortuneatly I have another with the same box code...
SCgarman
El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme. Cannot fathom the following these cigars have, they are virtually flavorless and I find myself puffing and puffing to try to get something out of the cigar. Will never buy a box again of this marca. Give me a RASS or BRC any day of the week over those.

If it's the vendor I have in mind, they had some early 1999s date code #2s which drew well but in their recent stock list I saw that they now only have later '99s. jedipastor
Sancho Panza CG from 2003. Almost no flavor to me, too mild I guess, plan to get rid of them.

jdo2110
SLR A from 2001, Partagas 898 varnished 2001. 10 box of magicos (can't remember year), 10 box mag 50s '09, AND 10 box of RyJ short churchills '10. All of these had the same issue. ZERO flavor. I mean, you could tell what they should have been, but they were just flat. I wasn't aware of the '99-'01 issues when I purchased them. In retrospect it makes sense because the particular vendor that I used had just started a vintage section, and almost all of the selections came from that time frame. Those were in my early days of CCs. Lesson learned. : / The SLR were, BY FAR, the worst of these. Much like Habana Mike's description, the cigars would fight to even be lit!! I ended up giving them to buddies who weren't regular smokers, and loved the idea of a free CC. I gave them fair warning though... In the end it was just tobacco to them. alloy
Bought a box of SLR A's (Aug 01) and a box of HDM De Deuix (May 00) in 2011. Let them rest in my wineador (65/65) for two months. Both boxes the sticks were hard as NC's. They had very hard draws and not much flavor. Will never buy cc's from this period ever again. After 5 of each smoked, I gave them away. laficion
All I have Is a box of N.C.'s that Is really bad and I mean BAD,;;;;;;;;;;; I bought them a few years ago and I won't make that mistake again. jrb5783
I've been very fortunate not to have any bad boxes yet but a bad cigar that sticks out in my mind was a H Upman LE 09 that was so plugged I didn't get a 1/4" before I pitched one of the very few sticks I've pitched
