WOW, lots of responses and great suggestions! Looks like I will have to increase my winter cigar budget.

I'll probably end up buying some Boli CJ, Upmann HC for sure. RASCC and ERSM DT if I can find them. I already have some Trini Reyes and MC5 and maybe time to get some more.

...ahh the days I would have suggested the HdM du Depute!

the SdC #3...

the Partagas Tres Petit Coronas... or the Bolivar Demi Tasse! The masterminds at Tabacuba have decimated the small ring and sub-PC cigars in the catalogue. No wonder I have no interest in surfing vendor sites anymore!!!

Still some good small, thin gauge cigars available. Partagas Shorts are great and, even better of late, Bolivar Corona Juniors.

Agree with those above who mentioned the Upmann half corona. Seems to be general agreement that this is a good addition to the Habanos lineup.

Don't forget the RyJ TPC in cabs, Punch Petit Punch in cabs, H Upmann Petit Palatinos...

I wish we could do this year round. Damn cold here starting in November to April....

Damn I feel for you guys that's a long time.

Regarding shorts, I like them with 2+ years on them prior to that they don't do anything for me. Same with rascc.

20 minutes to smoke the Upmann Half Corona...that's not relaxation, that's aggravation. What, I'm supposed to light up and throw it away?!

I have heard great things, however. clown2.gif

How different is the Bolivar CJ from the PC?

Shorter, same ring gauge. IMHO, a more complex blend & a little more kick than the PC- especially the 2011s. I really enjoy both cigars. To me, the PC has been excellent the past several years, but the 2011 CJs are- again to me, much better than 2006, 07 or 08.

Another cigar on the upswing is RASCC. I was so disappointed with their 06, 07 & 08 I traded them off. The 2012 RASCC, though, is a fantastic cigar.

"Kick" as in nicotine? I find the PC to be a very flavorful cigar.

Guess I'll have to try them at some point.

Thanks.

Agreed. My two boxes of '07 and one box from 2010 were total crap compared to what this cigar was until the mid 2000's.

Another vote for the Bolivar CJ. I bought a box from MAR 2012 a couple of months ago....three more boxes arrived yesterday!

RASCC is my favorite, too. Really impressed with the '12s thus far.

A lot of fans of the Principes, which I haven't tried. What's the flavor profile on these?

I'll get flack for this but I really don't like them!

"Sweaty mushroms and old lady perfume"

are what i have in my notes

RASCC is one of my favorite go-to cigars, consistently good and flavorful. But like beer, you need to learn to love it as my first box 3 years ago was pretty strong/harsh. But 3 boxes later I can smoke these all day, every day.

I have a box from '12 resting and am considering getting another box, so I can start smoking it without having to stress that I won't be able to find any new ones.

I finished a box of BCJ that was hit or miss, so it's not my favorite small Cuban. I've had 1 amazing Reyes in Cuba that tasted like cola.... with thick velvety smoke, but my box from '08 hasn't been as exciting. Once had an El Principe but it was too floral for me, should try another single soon if the replies are anything to go by.

For me it's Party Shorts and Trini Reyes. Both of those cigars seem to satisfy almost every time. I do love some aged Cohiba Sig Is, though, but I don't have any. Bolivar CJs can be awesome, but the last few I've had were pretty flat for some reason.

Id' really like to get some RASCC (since I love RASS) and some of the new H. Upmanns.

That sounds pretty terrible. Is it weird that this makes me more curious to try one?

Then don't purchase RASCC from '07 to 2010. They're gross and vile. It's on the cut list? Well, good riddance… unless they have restored the blend in recent productions.
