Guest Robo Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 In preparation for the upcoming long winter (and reduced smoking times) I am going to stock up on small format cigars. Any suggestions on which are the best small cigars coming out of Cuba right now? Specific vitola and brand do not matter, I'm interested in anything that's smoking well right now. Thx! Rob
Puros Y Vino Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Lots of guys swear by Party Shorts. I think they're OK. Nothing too exciting. For me, the top short cigar is the Trini Reyes, but it is not the most economical. Try SCDLH El Principes. They're tasty sticks. RASCC also seem to be a good one. Though I haven't tried one myself. Now on a related topic. My wife and I swung by the Home Depot. They had their sheds on sale and she asked me if I wanted one to be able to smoke this winter! I couldn't believe it.

dvickery Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 young very young...upmann half coronas...hands down the best young cigar on the shelves in havana right now. with a little age...'03 bolivar coronas juniors...the most complex cigar in the bolivar line right now...sublime balance between flavours and strength ...exotic spices and true representative of the 42ring bolivar legacy. derrek
pjansen Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Monte 5s are the best small cigar for me right now. I have two boxes stored away for when time is short. Just exemplifies the prototypical Monte flavor.
nonameno Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Hello Fellow FOHers, I have recently had a number of Juan Lopez Petit Coronas that were supurb from recent production. Thank you, Curtiss
Rushman Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 RASCC. Upmann half corona. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631716,-87.070659
nonameno Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 ...of course, the only problem with the RASCC is that you cannot find them!
Puros Y Vino Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I know where I'm going to smoke this winter... Perhaps. I'm looking at a 7 * 7.5 and a 6 * 6. I'd need a space heater and a fan. It might be a bit tight. At least the bottles of Scotch will be nicely chilled.
IcedCanuck Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Partagas Shorts H.Upmaan Half Corona Bolivar Corona Junior San Cristobal de la Habanna El Principe Cohiba Siglo I with some age are good but pricey Trinidad Reyes are very tasty but they are a bit pricey as well
Hamlon Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I would have to say RASCC. Flavour is great, haven't noticed any bad burns and the draw has been perfect. My box from 2010 has been very consistent. One stick left in my desktop and if there's one cigar I would buy a couple of boxes of, it would be the RASCC. My cab of party shorts, also from 2010, hasn't been very great. Too harsh. I smoked a lot of them when I first started this game so I haven't got many left, though. Will probably improve a lot in a year or two.
hdryder Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 RASCC I love these if you can find them Monte #5 are very nice also and availability is good Trini Reyes are great & also the Cohiba Sig 1 but as was previously mention very pricey
Bahnofstrasse Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 30 minute smoke: Upmann Half Corona 45-60: ERDM PC, outstanding smoke that unfortunately is being discontinued
Cohiba Stevie Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Rascc! All the way. Becoming quite hard to find now.
Lotusguy Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Adding one to the mix: ERDM Demi Tasse - fantastic smoke! Otherwise, I really like RASCC and El Principe.
CaptainQuintero Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Hoyo PR, give it some love! Just oodles of cream and milk coffee, such a great blend!
