I had a look at our new shipment in Oz yesterday. I love those days of solitude just looking at stock. Simply a box cutter, a cigar in my mouth and keen (I hope) eye and nose.

I am obviously seeing a lot of 2011/12 stock. It is generally good. I get excited....and I get depressed. I get depressed a little less these days

What I really liked (in volume) were:

Boli Corona Junior (brilliant).

Cohiba Siglo VI (25)...best I have seen for over a year.

Monte 2 (one of those mastercases that just melts you at the knee. Plenty of others that were good. That one however

Boli Royal Corona

HDM Epi 2.....simply sublime.

Sancho Panza Beli

El Rey Del Mundo Choix Supreme (25)

Trini Fundadores (about time)

Partagas D4 (10's) superb.

Partagas P 2 (25)

What I hated

Partagas D4 25's (mastercase after mastercase of crap)

San Cristobal Principe. My God why bother.

R&J almost universally.

Partgas Serie E (gone from penthouse to doghouse. Probably harsh. Gone from great to so so .)

RASS

Partagas Petit Corona (need to pick up their game after some recent stellar production).

Most Cohiba. Picked good stock of 1's and a few of each but is hard yards.

Sir Winstons. Ok they are "good" but for hells sake they should be brilliant...each and every one.

Thee rest where available were "solid" "good" without being outstanding. There are always exceptions and I will have them for LFTH over the coming weeks.

Let's hope the variation is by the box ,and then codes mean nothing ,I used to love the RASS haven't had one for quite some time now (years) because they have lost their MOJO

thanks for the report Rob. many of my favourites on the thumbs up list. disappointing to see SCDLH El Principe on the the thumbs down side though - a staple cigar for me that i'm running low on.

Agreed, recent JL2 and BRC have been magnificent. Have you smoked/seen the recent HU Conn#1's Rob? They may not be the prettiest, but are miles above how good the 07/08 were, IMO.

If you do a daily deal on those, now then, we'd be talkin!

I've never had a bad RASS...I had one from a '11 cab...one of the best RASS I've had. Haven't had any '11 or '12 Cohiba....I'm shocked Cohiba is not producing good stock. Good to know the PSP2's, BRC's, JL2's, and Monte 2 are smoking well. Haven't had a good Monte 2 in a while!

Me and a friend just went halfs on a box of RASS recently... i cant say anything good about this box tbh, a shame really.. just glad i didn't buy the whole box myself. Would have been even better if i had read this thread first! Prob would have gone with something else... I'll know for next time though, Still just shows how valuble a thread like this can be!
