Diamondog Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I would ask for a Cohiba CGR/'04 Sublime blend in a Sublime format...
Puros Y Vino Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 For me, a Lancero type cigar with a 40RG and about 9inch length. Blend wise, the Cohiba Maduro wrapper. Some PSD4 filler mixed in with a bit of RyJ Cazadores power and cherry wood sweetness. Toss in a bit of what made the Davidoff No 1 such a delight to smoke too. And if permitted by the Genie. An ice bucket with a nicely chilled bottle of Pol Roger that never runs out or warms up.
mk05 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Way to go, Sherlock! Although this particular specimen is in fact from ERO NOV 09, I wasn't trying to mislead you with the picture, but merely represent the image of my desert island cigar and the wrapper I prefer. So.... My apologies for not tagging my pic with: WARNING: This is not actually a 5 year old 898... just a representation of my "Genie Fantasy" dream cigar. PS: It was a Genie Fantasy. Actually I was giving you thumbs up BC it looked at the time like a pre-02 cigar according to Trevor's site. Now that I go through it, Partagas bands didn't really have a set type as his site states - so that reference seems wrong. Lo siento, I was unfamiliar with 898 band setting. That cigar is not my thing.
jacktarnold Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 For me it would be a bhk52 in wrapper and blend but roll it as a perfecto 44x137. I could smoke that thing continuously until I died.

jedipastor Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Wow, this one is really hard! My favorite vitola is the lancero, so it's gotta be that for sure. But I'd have it be a SPICY LANCERO, like 50% ligero, rather than the zero ligero they usually put in skinnies. (I love strong NC lanceros, no reason there couldn't be a Cuban). As far as blend ... well, I can think of so many, lol! I'd love to try a Cohiba Behike in that format. Or how about the creaminess of an HdM Epicure plus the spices of a PSD4 that's ON. Here's an impossible one, but since it's a genie, we'll go for it: A full-bodied and spicy Lancero that tastes like a Cohiba Behike 54 in the first third, a RASS in the 2nd third, and a Partagas 898v in the final third
phoenix Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Dalia-esque in size, with the buttery toasted wood from an HdM des Dieux with a drop of Bolivar spice and a bit of Partagas 898 earthiness to round out the blend.
phoenix Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 As far as blend ... I'd love to try a Cohiba Behike in that format. AGREE! IMO the BHK blend is tailor made for a Lancero. Not sure if small leaf size is a limiting factor, but HSA needs to seriously consider a BHK Lancero EL!
Michel1968 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 pfeeewww... tough one... lonsdale for sure blend from LGC#3/QdO Panetela - touch of Diplo #2 & #5 as well as some Party 898v and a hint of Bolivar Lonsdale/Hoyo des Dieux colorado wrapper
cigaraholic Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Where the hell are those 3 wish genies when you need one! I would chose a dalia. Blend would be Cohiba and R&J, sugarcane and cherries would make me eternally happy. A nice dark oily wrapper....please. For my second wish........
audio1der Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Dalia-esque in size, with the buttery toasted wood from an HdM des Dieux with a drop of Bolivar spice and a bit of Partagas 898 earthiness to round out the blend. So I guess a slightly stronger des Dieux and a slightly milder 898? Different answer tomorrow, of course. 100% agree.Buttery roasted with the Boli twang and some good 'ol Party earthiness? Heaven. Format? Somewhere between a Dalia and a lancero.
PigFish Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I don't really think my smoking experience would change much! Boastful, yeah probably, but having honed my cigar selection down to exactly what I like, I smoke great cigars every day. There would be a few differences, and with that, this is what I would wish for as my supply of cigars in not unlimited. I wish for a range of cigars when I go to my humidor, The range will be from vitoals the size of the Equisitos (Seoane) through the Dalia, or common 898 cigar. The cigar would be what I want when I want it. Since cigars would be free there would be no worry about wasting tobacco, but since I don't always have the time to smoke a full sized cigar, and these cigars would all be made correctly, I may not want to spend the time for a cigar to develop, so some short cigars would be a must, still. The variance in cigars is what interests me. If cigars were not unique, I would loose interest with in them. There would be nothing worse than a curse of smoking the same cigar, no matter how good I thought the original blend was, over and over, and over, again! This reminds me of a little saying of mine. Pardon me ladies... !!! One of my friends would make a comment about a hot looking lady, somewhere, some place. They would make some outlandish comment about what they would do to her in the "dark" and then ask why she was not wearing a ring. My reply.... "If you show me a beautiful woman, I will show you a man that is tired of sleeping with her." Some modifications have been made to the quote for the sake of the board rules!!! This is life. The same thing will often bore the most steadfast person. I don't believe in flavor profiles. Does my genie Raquel know a good cigar? If she is thinking profiles, she is not as wise a genie as I would hope for and I would bottle her back up! She had better understand cigars, and why I smoke them because this is my order. I don't want the same cigars! I want a wonderful smoking experience. Did you get that Raquel... I want wonderful smoking experiences, not the same smoking experience! My first cigar will be sublime! And each cigar thereafter will be better than the last. They will vary in shade from colorado claro to colorado. Some will have pigtails and some won't. I don't really care! The perfect cigar is not the same cigar. It is not a profiled cigar, It is an individual and it must evolve and change. I HATE MONOTONY RAQUEL! My last request from Raquel is that I can smoke one, or more with my friend Guy! I will go further. I want to be able to share them with all my friends, either via gift or in person. If I cannot share them, they are not perfect cigars!!! Furthermore I must have them by the 1000's because there is nothing better than walking into a humidor and allowing the cool musty smell overwhelm you. Allowing your friends to walk in and fill their pockets with a selection of the finest cigars in the world would be this smokers dream! Cheers mates! -the Pig
PigFish Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Pig, I didnt read what you wrote, but I'm gonna assume you wish the next cigar would be ultra limited with 7 bands and gold foil. Not to mention the Carbon Fiber, diamon-encrusted box with holograms and pieces of moon rocks along with signatures and serial numbers from every roller/manager of the EL program. Oh, and I have no doubt this dream cigar of yours will be 64 RG and at least 7 inches longs. How close am I? Try reading it mate! Your chances of making it in the field of prognostication are limited!!! As usual my post is enlightening, insightful and elegant. You might benefit from it!!! -LOL -the Pig
ramon_cojones Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I would bottle her back up, already have a bunch that I enjoy smoking.
LeafLover Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 RS 11 in a Dalia RG CE in a Dalia Mag 46 in a Dalia HUP SW in a Dalia Then Salma for one night...videotaped for prosperity.
Orion21 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 My Custom Order El Genie A Behike Grand Lonsdale 46 - 6.7 X 46 Blend: Behike 52 April 2010 I literally would be happy for the rest of my days!
canadianbeaver Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Give me the rich notes of a Behike 52 the flavors of a LGC M#1 and the smoooooth-ness of a SC Merca or even a Principe (let's not get greedy). Would that be asking too much?
maverickdrinker Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 AGREE! IMO the BHK blend is tailor made for a Lancero. Not sure if small leaf size is a limiting factor, but HSA needs to seriously consider a BHK Lancero EL! They cannot make a BHK in a lancero format as there is too much leaf needed for the BHK blend to fit into a 38 ring gauge. Made me cry when I heard that.
Rushman Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Pig tailed, shaggy footed petit corona with Vegas Robaina flavor profiles. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.630133,-87.069688
mbrody Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Chili Pepper figurado, 5" length, use the Czar blend and wrapper from the last batch, but kick up the strength 1 or 2 notches (the last Czar I smoked was amazing btw)
Bolismoker Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Personally I would kill for the old Dunhill blend, in any size. The few I've had over the years have without a doubt beend the finest examples of what's possible in Habanos. That said I find Corona Extra, Corona Gorda type of sizes the most pleasing. Please oh please Genie bring back the Dunhill blend!
anacostiakat Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 A dalia or maybe cazadore in size. Blend? A double ligero blend. Maybe Partagas 898 or Le Hoyo Des Dieux (pre-99). Difficult. I prefre lighter wrappers to reddish. . .

Your words resonate with me I agree, monotony dampens the spirits & makes for a boring existence! Although I've recently began enjoying cigar smoking again (after many years), it's very quickly becoming a serious hobby!! As I am yet to be a proud owner of a humidor, when I visit a cigar merchant to purchase a couple of sticks, I'm not sure what I will happily saunter away with-unless I've been recommended something by a trusted friend/s. I'm not up there kicking it with the flavour gurus & dissecting each third, however, I can say each cigar for me is an adventure, a time of meditation & contemplation. Whether enjoyed with coffee, red wine, whiskey etc the experience is never the same!! I may find a favourite.......though when it comes to cigars, for me, variety is the spice of life!! Cheers Fii
