ronin Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Van Vandermeer, known on the boards as van55. Van fought a long battle with lung cancer, and it appeared that he was holding his own until this morning. I learned this on another board. May he rest in peace.

Dbone Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 God bless you, Van. Van was instrumental in getting me to enjoy cuban cigars. He and his crew on HCF taught and shared me with stuff I still remember and hold true today. My prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends

Being the noob that I was at the time I thought I just got the secret handshake to get into the cigar world, he was a good man and generous to a fault, he will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
