El Presidente Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Your best cigar of the past month? For myself, Ramses short Lancero took the cake but crikey the current 898 V I tried toward the end of the month I can still taste. I haven't tasted a lot of real barnyard floor in my time (aroma ...yes). However in this 898 I swear I could taste the chicken poop/toasted tobacco/moist floor. It was feral...pungeant...confronting....GORGEOUS! Your pick for November?
Stalebread Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Edmundo Dantes El Conde from '07. Really one of the best for quite a while, not just November.
PADDYWHACK121272 Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Trinidad Reyes OUR OCT 08 - 40 min of pure class
JoshMP Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 HdM Epicure No. 1 have been phenomenal, The Wide Churchill's really grown on me too.
Dbone Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I had two Partagas cigars on Thanksgiving day which were nothing short of remarkable. I had a 898V after the big meal, a few hours later after pumpkin pie I lit up a P2. Could have been one of the best "cigar days" of the year.
Liuk Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 to me november wasn't a lucky month about cigars! The best I had was a cohiba robusto!
winelover Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Your pick for November? Mine is RASS. I had an absolute stunner and first in 3 years that I nubbed and left me craving another. Box code unknown and most likely aged a little as it was a single picked up from the same vendor that was frequented by W. Churchill in Mayfair.
BigGuns Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Mag50 blew me away a couple times over the past month.
mbrody Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 #1 was a 10 R&J Wide Churchill from a HQ Box - it was still young, but what was there was very promising. Some age should make it a bomb of flavor. Cherry, Sweet Wood, Spice, Pepper and Cream. I was able to forgive the size. #2 09 PSD4 that smoked average up until this fall, then all of a sudden WHAMMO. Partagas flavor and strength that comes at you with guns ablazin.
jdbrown Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Cohiba Behike 52...wish I had another Aristocrat filled to the gills with them!! 08 Partagas 898. Very rich and flavourful.
thechenman Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 For me it would be a Bolivar Corona Extra from 2007. I'm actually surprised.
PigFish Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I still have a few '99 Choke Supremes from a box I bought in '99. I have largely passed over these cigars and that is the reason I still have a few. I pulled one out the other day for a short trip to a woodworking show. WOW... what a cigar. This cigar was loaded with aromatics, very rich, well blended and spicy. It has been a standout cigar for me this year and certainly in the top three cigars this year. I think my top cigars this year were: '99 ERdM CS '95 QdO Taino '01 Monte Esp #2 I have really attacked the box of '01 Montes. These cigars are outta' this world! -Piggy
Omskakas Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Didn't smoke many. The best might have been Party connie 3: Strong, rich and short for the cold weather.
cgarner Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 A des dieux. Not sure the box code or year, got them in a sampler pack and didn't keep track of the codes. Bloody good smoke. Glad I have a box secured.
MrGlass Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Ramses Custom without a doubt. One of the best cigar experiences I've had. Smoking them wet is just something else.
mef Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Ramses freshly rolled petite corona (though I got to smoke it on 3rd Dec). I suspect I may be the first to smoke a Ramses custom in NZ The other great cigar is Monte 4 (HQ box) and original release of Por Larranaga RE Robusto.
#2 man Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Last night I smoked an 08 HQ Dip 2 that was fabulous couldn't keep it away from my nose it smelled so good
rdb6 Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 My favorite cigar for the month of November was a HDM Le Hoyo des dieux from 2000 month unknown. Sweet and complex along with some spice and tingling of the tongue. I have 5 or 6 more chillimg out for awhile before sparking them up.
LeafLover Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 08 Rafael Gonzales Coronas Extra. Simply fantastic in flavor and construction.
shrink Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 The best cigar I smoked in November surprised me. No, it shocked me... It was a Cuaba Piramide EL. Previously, I had found these to be somewhat bland and one-dimensional. I once described them as resembling a Partagas P2 without the pepper and spice! Unless my last example was an anomaly, a freak... It opened with loads of tangy pepper, then progressed to show sweet spices and rich stewed fruits. It finished with more pepper, wood and earth. Medium-bodied and full-flavored. I'd describe it as a cross between a Partagas 898V and a Ramon Allones 898V. I've never tasted anything quite like it. Superb.
