Day three saw the four of us sleep in due the after effects of one of those red wine early morning finishes. Lodge manager “Taffy” is already reconsidering the “Free Drink” scenario.....we are the first Australians ever to be at the lodge !LOL! Lovely American husband and wife are staying here as well. Greg and I somehow managed at 1am to walk into their bungalow by accident ....turn on the lights...and witness pure panic. They are talking to us again.

Fished with Macho today on the upper reaches of the river system. 90 minute high speed boat ride left us wondering if it was all worthwhile. It was.......sight fishing heaven. If you could picture an 18 hole fishing course of the great spots in the world.......where we fished today would be the 18th. 10-16 lb fish everywhere in deep timber. The shallow water made them skittish but when the right fly was delivered, the water exploded. Macho and I would have caught and released 50 fish over 4 hours and missed the same number again.

Came back to the lodge at 6pm tired in need of a swim. Poolside bar helps. Dinner was excellent as usual. The boys are having a cigar over a few bottles of Red wine while I tap this with a SLR Regio and a local rum. It is not Zacappa....but I am not complaining. Great day!

Some picks of the day

Lets think about this for a second..........Guy wakes up one day in Australia, flies to Brazil to fish, flies to Cuba to smoke some cigars a couple days later and back home one day..........ah, I'd say thats the good life indeed :2thumbs:

Rob, are you wearing those shorts because you miss having Ken along this trip? All the Cuban transvestites will be catching up with you if you wear them in Cuba.

For all of those bagging the shorts..I thought they are pretty cool shorts.

Sort of like Paul Smith design...

Having said that most of the shirts Rob wears are pretty flamboyant mardi gras type of shirts but these shorts he has are spot on..

Ignore them mate for once u have style:)
