I would aim to smoke them at regular intervals, perhaps 3 or 4 a year. That way, I could track their progress. After ten years, I would hope to have gone through 35 sticks and have fifteen left, unless they've been smoking to my liking before then. If that's the case, knowing me, I wouldn't age them further. In my view, it's all about finding that 'peak period', that 'sweet spot' for yourself.5 points

Fortunately not too much commentary from Kirby... Can't imagine what the price would be on a cab of Churchills. But certainly hits a number of √ on my list: 1.Por Larrañaga 2.Churchill 3.Cab Apparently 1500 boxes of RE. Another H&F effort.4 points

Having visited the UK briefly this year, I can attest how important and what a difference the current exemption to smoking laws makes on cigar smoking in the premises of established vendors. I think our UK members can and will 'chime in' with their valued opinion on this matter, however, I would think the precedent that I've alluded to, that is, the permittance of smoking indoors in cigar shops, on the proviso of a willingness to 'try and buy' on behalf of the consumer, will have a potential influence on this course of action. At the very least, I would hope so!4 points

You should have been around in the mid-2010s when H.Upmann Connoisseur No.1s were been offered habitually on 24:24 with sprinklings of mold on them. I've never seen anything move faster! 😂 And I mean that sincerely, I'm not being ironic, nor sarcastic, these boxes would sell out in the 'blink-of-an-eye!' It goes to show what our experienced members think of cigars with minimal surface mold that is easy to wipe off! 👍3 points

I have a box of LeGrande 6X46, but all have been rolled so far with a nice draw resistance. Definitely not wind tunnels. Very nice smooth Nic tobacco, well worth $200/box. Glad I decided to try a box of these.3 points

...some people have a lot of times on their hands Although not in the dictionary, it is reported that "Lexophile" describes a person who loves sentences such as, "You can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish," and, "To write with a broken pencil is pointless." An annual competition is held by the 'New York Times' to see who can create the best original lexophile. This year's submissions: · I changed my iPod's name to Titanic. It's syncing now. · England has no kidney bank, but it does have a Liverpool. · Haunted French pancakes give me the crepes. · This girl today said she recognized me from the Vegetarians Club, but I'd swear I've never met herbivore. · I know a guy who's addicted to drinking brake fluid, but he says he can stop any time. · A thief who stole a calendar got twelve months. · When the smog lifts in Los Angeles, U.C.L.A. · I got some batteries that were given out free of charge. · A dentist and a manicurist married. They fought tooth and nail. · A will is a dead giveaway. · With her marriage, she got a new name and a dress. · Police were summoned to a daycare where a three-year-old was resisting a rest. · A bicycle can't stand alone; it's just two tired. · The guy who fell onto an upholstery machine last week is now fully recovered. · He had a photographic memory, but it was never fully developed. · When she saw her first strands of grey hair, she thought she'd dye. · Acupuncture is a jab well done. That's the point of it. · I didn't like my beard at first. Then it grew on me. · Did you hear about the crossed-eyed teacher who lost her job because she couldn't control her pupils? · When you get a bladder infection, urine trouble. · When chemists die, they barium. · I stayed up all night to see where the sun went, and then it dawned on me. · I'm reading a book about anti-gravity. Love it. Philanthropy is one of life's greatest inspirations. One person doing something lovely, somehow has the power to outweigh a 1000 people doing something shitty.2 points

I have been slowly working my way through a box of these I picked up last year. Introducing more NC into my rotation is essential to make my Cuban supply last. I have found these to be very "Cubanesque." Lets see if that holds true for this one. One complaint with these is the draw is usually much too open. I like a little resistance. This one is a wind tunnel. I touch my tongue to the end a few times which helps slow the draw down a bit. Good trick for those who haven't used it yet... Opens with a sweet, toasted graham cracker flavor. Light to medium body. Very nice. As it heats up the cigar gets a little more black pepper and the graham starts to move more towards wood notes. Easy medium at this point. These cigars don't take the usual trip down bitter burnt flavors that a lot of NC cigars produce for me. Stayed creamy smooth throughout. I would say without a doubt the most Cuban tasting NC imo. I only wish they were able to get a little more spice into them. But then again I guess the NC elements would likely really show if that were the case. 92 pts.2 points

Tobacco is a dead man walking. Rising prices to what they are now only speeds this up. Habanos should've raised production and kept or lowered prices to ensure their consumer base is maintained or increased. Dwindling consumer base makes these laws easier to implement.2 points

I bought two of these in the DR a few years back. Wish I had bought the whole box.2 points

I think the assumption is that tobacco isn’t as popular as alcohol. Alcohol is deeply rooted in Western culture. That’s why Churchill called prohibition an affront to the whole history of man. This is more like the war on drugs - which hasn’t exactly succeeded either!2 points

Yes - I’d be hopeful that cigars will avoid this one way or another. Cigars retained the sampling indoors but also avoided plain packaging, signage, branding, etc - none of which we have across the water in Ireland. Cigar shops are almost unviable here but seem to be booming in the UK.2 points

Completely agree with @JohnS . I would suggest waiting ~3 months to allow the cigars to acclimate to your storage conditions, then try one to get a gauge of the quality and aging potential. Smoking on the intervals that John suggests, enables you to enjoy the pleasure of this great cigar without denying yourself the enjoyment by waiting several years before first smoking one. Who knows, you may find they hit your 'sweet spot' of flavour within a couple of years. Recent production of PSD4 have been smoking great young. Lusis may be the same.2 points
