I am always a sucker to try something new but wonder if any members can report on their experience/thoughts DESERT DOOR TEXAS SOTOL The evergreen sotol plant — often called the Desert Spoon — is unique to northern Mexico and Texas and has lanky green leaves with sharp-tipped spears. It's often confused with agave, but this rare plant produces a spirit that was the first alcoholic beverage ever consumed in the state of Texas nearly 800 years ago. Desert Door is the only U.S. distiller of this unique spirit, using wild-harvested sotol plants to create a liquid that is as versatile as vodka, but more complex and interesting with flavors of orange zest, mint, and toffee. Each batch is handmade in Driftwood, Texas, and bottled at 80 proof in blue glass swing-top bottles.4 points

Sorry for being late to the conversation. Happy to host people. I may not be able to make it at all due to a curling tournament but my biz partner Joel knows the score. I don't think anyone here has seen the vastly updated patio set up. You should find it quite satisfactory. For NCs to try while at the store, I highly recommend the Hamlet 25th Corona and La Aurora Hors d'Age Corona Gorda (both store exclusive) and the Tatuaje Escasos. Cheers, Phil4 points

I'm not sure if I can make it at all yet but I'm working on it. If a group lunch doesn't get put together, I highly recommend you try Cafe Ba-ba-Reeba! for a very good tapas lunch. It's on Halsted in Lincoln Park only a mile and a half or so from Up Down Cigars. Hope to see you all on Sunday Scott3 points

I love Mexican Sotol, even served it at my wedding - - the Hacienda de Chihuahua brand. If you like Tequila you will probably like Sotol because they are quite similar. Never had this Texas juice though so can't comment on this particular bottle.3 points

I'll be happy to shoot a La Fuerza down to you brother. I don't know if I'm gonna make it to Miami in May - family stuff happening. I enjoyed the Picadores. I posted it up on the Daily Smoke thread a month or so ago: PL Picadores from @Chas.Alpha Delicious forest floor funk and orange peel. Thank you brother!2 points

Soundtrack! This film, as with all of Tarantino's films, has an absolutely outstanding soundtrack. I still listen to it regularly. If I hear one of the songs independently, I almost instantly connect it to where it was used in the film. Brilliant stuff.2 points
