What a great day! I had a Monte 5 this morning before going to church with my family and then we went out to lunch after which I took my traditional Sunday afternoon nap! Next, I was off to softball practice where I coach a local Special Olympics Softball Team. Today was our final practice before next weekends Regional Tournament so we worked them pretty hard. Now I'm back on the deck, much to my wife's chagrin, with my feet up, a Salty Dog and that ULA NOV 13 Bolivar Libertador I had hoped I'd get to tonight! While my wife may not like my cigar indulgence, Sadie rather enjoys our time outdoors! I'm not really a fan of larger ring gauges on CCs but I love the Bolivar marca and the flavor profile on this cigar is spot on! I could definitely support a box purchase of these bad boys! Have a great week everyone! Cheers! Bill5 points

I wonder what the first "RE 'Merica" will be...Will it have a 3rd band? Will it be the first cc 70 rg? Oh, the possibilities!!! The best part about ending the embargo (for ME, on a purely selfish basis) would be having a LCDH I can visit here in the US. I like the shopping part of it, the tactile experience of groping and fondling the boxes... I won't buy anything there I can get here mind you but it is fun shopping for smokes.2 points

That's cool. It's not just your take though. Many more are with you. For me, what I was alluding to, is that it's about the ability to draw on previous decades that makes 'now' better. Almost half of all musical genres that exist today didn't exist before the late '80's. Artistically, we are so far beyond what has existed in the last 60 years or so it's ridiculous. And this comes from the ability to reference and be inspired by everything that has come before. Whether it be pure art, music, performance or even sport. Your debate on medical and technological advances are a little far fetched though. Two quick examples; firstly, my dad is only 68 and has survived two different bouts of cancer and plays golf and cooks everyday. Frothing on life! And secondly, we are having a pretty rad discussion, almost about everything, on the Internet, because we both love cigars. Sent from my iPhone2 points

Cohiba Siglo II (MUO FEB14)...by far the most fantastic cigar I've had in quite a while. Draw, burn were perfect and the best way to describe the flavor is "honey-laden". Best thing about it, I still have about 20 left in this box.2 points

F1 needs as many tire suppliers as are willing to participate. The teams should be able to use whichever tire, engine, chassis, fuel, etc. they're able to sign. And as long as safety is a top priority, the teams should be able to do whatever they want to do to make the fastest, most reliable, best performing car each season. It should be a truly Unlimited class - safety is key, but otherwise anything goes. F1 is supposed the be the pinnacle of Motorsport. It's high time they started acting like it. Ramón Allones superiores (ula oct 14) I´m amazed. Absolutely lovely smoke. Yes, it has edges but no harness at all. Actually loved the darker notes coming from its youth. Made it well balanced with the fruity core. Will be hard to keep my hands off. Do I really want to? Though it has legs. lots of. Only has two boxes. Will go through one of them soon for sure.2 points

f1 needs two tire suppliers to spice things up a bit. Imagine if everyone was running the same engine, it would be boring.2 points

2003 Reserva Esplendido Aged 3 years before release the tobacco in these is 15 years old now. Excellent construction, wrapper a touch darker than typical for a Cohiba. Silky and smooth. Was going to smoke the Robusto but the draw was tighter than I like so off to the dry box for that one. This one has the perfect draw. Starts with light orange, cream, marzipan. Notes of vanilla and cedar enter toward the center. Finishes with cocoa leading the way. Medium bodied, medium strength. A quite good cigar and enjoyable afternoon smoke.2 points

With the likely opening up of US trade relations in the coming years, I was thinking that such a time leeway would allow Tabacuba/HSA to plan methodically for the increase in tobacco planting from this year, refurb its factories and infrastructure, put away good levels of tobacco, increase stock levels......the sort of thing that normal businesses do when they see the greatest demand change in 50 years on the horizon. Well if what I am hearing is correct, 17,000 hectares will be planted this coming season. That is in comparison to 20,000 hectares last year. To put it in perspective, 26,000 hectares was planted in 2004. I have no reason to doubt my sources. There is a quality tobacco shortage currently which was the reason for most Cohiba production effectively being taken offline for half a year in 2014 (confirmed). You would think....that this year would be the year to "go for broke " in planting....followed by even a bigger year next year..and again the year following. It doesn't look like it will be panning out that way. With planting commencing November, we will soon find out. I hope I am wrong because if the information provided to me is correct, there are going to be some dark days ahead in terms of global supply1 point

i could probably do without cliff richard. saw dylan several times, none better than brizzy late 70s. slept outside festival hall to get tickets - well, no one slept - great atmosphere. as much fun as the concert. this was budokan days. great concert. this is an incomplete set list. there are a couple i remember missing. it was a bit historic, i'm told (okay, not quite 'going electric' but ...) seems that it was the first time he had ever done two encores. i do remember that it took a while to get him out for the first but at least 10-15 minutes to get him out for the second. no one left. just kept up a never-ending chant of more. one of the best concerts i've ever seen. $3500 mechanics bill on the car and the truck is on the fritz! And now I need to stock up for hard times a coming. Hmm.... Well a box or two a month, over the next 2 years, carry the 3 add 6 .... Yep, yah. I think I can weather the storm. None the less. Ready or not. It's going to be interesting to watch how things pan out. Cigars, tourism, the whole shebang.1 point

Even if supply increased marginally, the US demand will outstrip supply (especially in the first few years) by a large margin. I believe prices will go up and quality will decline, at least temporarily. http://fortune.com/2015/02/23/cuban-cigar-maker-eyes-25-30-of-u-s-market-if-embargo-lifted/1 point

in Saigon, besides Siqar, which is rustic, charming and mellow; you can also add the very nice Cigar Lounge on the 24th floor of AB Tower in Sorae Restaurant's lounge. Besides that, in Saigon, you can smoke indoors at the Boudoir Lounge at the Sofitel in District 1, and it's also a fun stop at the top of the Rex (where they stock R&J PC's) but that's outdoors so if the weather is warm . . . Top of the Sheraton also allows smoking and it's a good view, as is top of the Grand Hotel and the roof deck of the Majestic (both at the end of Dong Khoi). I'll be there the week of the 24th. Let me know where you're staying and we can meet up for a minor herf!1 point

Moved to Apple about 6 years ago and still very happy with it. For sure it is not perfect and has his own problems from time to time which is, at least for me, nothing compare to the "challenges" I had with Microsoft.1 point

I've got a box from 04 and while it certainly is on the mild side it is quite nice. Perfect cigar on that relaxing afternoon with a beverage while contemplating life and the mysteries of the universe.1 point

Ok...I admit I have no self discipline. I was supposed to wait until mid September but it just kept calling to me...Bill...Bill...BILL! Smoke me, smoke me now! La Gloria Cubana Medaille d'Or No. 4 ULA MAR 14 with water to drink this afternoon on the deck. I'll reserve comment until my split brothers have had an opportunity to sample one...I told you I'd break weak! This evenings selection is a Partagas Serie D No. 4 PMU DIC 14...Dark, dark oily wrapper. Delicious! Paired with Diplomatico Rum, also delicious! Cheers! Bill1 point
