Another LGR JUL 17 El Principe. Reliably delicious and surely one of the great value smokes. Sweet and complex.

You won’t regret it. This seems like one of the cases where the smallest vitola of the marca is the best.

Yep...also Epi 2 Reserva Cosecha (no different than regular production). I have aging cabinets of DCs that are consistently bland, Especials...bland. The San Juans from time to time display some amazing character (stone fruits), but very inconsistently. Just not a great Marca for me.

Sitting on the Plaza in Burgos, Spain passing siesta hours with a wonderful little Cuaba one-off from 2001 I snagged this morning for half price since it was a little banged up. Not bad for 4.50 Euro. Don’t remember the vitola.

Capping off a legendary day traveling from the North Coast Basque Country down into the Ribera Del Duero wine region in this fine country.

Punch Churchill 2000 - just one stick left purchased this morning at my first stop.

Cohiba Siglo III SOM Nov 2016

The Siglo III is and remains my favourite of the linea 1492 series. The reason is simple, the vitola is 42 ring gauge by 155 mm (or 6.1 inches) in length and that is the ideal cigar size for me. Its just a shame that only the Montecristo Tubos and Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo des Dieux have similar dimensions!

I can't help but feel that this Siglo III had the strongest combination of citrus and grass/hay I've ever encountered, something akin to lemongrass. This flavour, with some honey sweetness was there from beginning to end. There was no gentle flavours such as vanilla, nor any real cream texture to the smoke, rather this was medium-mild lemongrass and honey all the way.

I was fine with the cigar overall, especially as it's only 2½ years old. When they are like this, you know to rest them a little longer as those sweeter flavours will build with time.

Have you had any of them with orange juice?  That was the difference for me.  Brought out the flavors that I couldn't taste.
