Smooth Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 As I mentioned in my post a few months ago, I have an amazing woman in my life. She has been my rock and inspiration for the past two years. So I purchased a brilliant ring last month and decided the time was right... Well, last night I had a stretch limo pick her up from her office building (after giving a few of her workmates the job of making sure she gets in safely!) and she arrived at the Sofitel Hotel here in Brisbane to me opening the door with a cheeky grin. I arranged for a section for a section of the cocktail lounge to be set aside, with flowers, candles and MOET setting the scene. We sat and relaxed for awhile before moving to the Restaurant. I had the dining room booked for an hour and a half to give me a good window for the moment. So a couple more classes of Champagne went down and I pretended to head to the toilet before dropping to one knee and asking Mrs Smooth to oficially become Mrs Smooth. She was so emotional I had to repeat the entire spiel !! She said yes, and shortly after asked why the 250+ seat dinning room was completely empty!!! If I knew she wasnt going to notice for so long I wouldnt have bothered going to the trouble of booking it out hahaha So an amazing moment for both myself and Mrs Smooth (Jessica). We are both over the moon as are our family and friends. It's been a busy couple of months, moving house, setting up a new business AND getting engaged. I just knocked the cap off a bottle of whiskey and am heading out to the deck for a cigar and a drink in the quiet cold of night... Cheers to all, Matt. Rob: I'm coming in for sure this week to buy some special cigars and sit on the Czar deck for some more quiet time! Lisa: I will have a pic of the ring at the ready!
tsolomon Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Sounds like you did it up right, congrats to you and your fiancee!
aavkk Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Sounds like a great memory you made there! Thats what life is all about.
laficion Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Matt, I was really moved by your sweet love story, I wish you both an eternity of love but most of all ( take it from a man who's been with the same woman for 38 years), stay both in the same state of mind and don't give in to indifference. with only that, you will stay in love up to the end of the world. Congrats to both.
cabaiguan juan Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Matt, thats an awesome recount of your event. All BS aside, good luck, and remember that you were best friends before the whole family/forever/compromisse thing happened. Stay that way and your family will last forever, though you may have to compromiss a little. (ahhemm-toilette seat)
