They're about three weeks into the journey and I figured I'd lift them up a bit and remind them that people count on us to hold the line and answer the call when the moment comes. Finished the pep talk letting them know it's a hell of a day to be in the Army because people get to enjoy this weekend thanks to young men and women like these volunteer to serve, then we ran another mile back to the footprint. Made it back in time to cook breakfast for the family. Tonight, going to head to a friend's house with the family so the kids can all swim and play. We will grill burgers and my plan is to introduce him to cigars with a Trinity Robusto. He said he's never had a cigar but would love to try. Told him he's in good hands. Should be a fun day! Popular Post chasy Posted July 4 Popular Post Posted July 4 Spent the last week in Detroit at my in-laws. Always a good time, truly. No golf for me because when you have a 4 month old (and a 3 year old) you aren’t allowed to sneak away to play golf (even with your father in law). Lots of good dinners, cocktails and fun restaurants. My in-laws go out to eat 3-4 nights a week, so that is an adjustment. I was lucky to sneak in a bunch of cigars. The little man (Sonny) gets up at 5am. So I tend to him, put him down for a nap at 6:30am, and have an hour to myself, hence the early morning cigar + coffee. I truly love having a cigar early in the morning, while sipping coffee on the patio. Probably my favorite time to smoke. Lots of time at the Country Club pool. My three year old is a fish! Hot dogs, cheeseburgers, grilled cheese on repeat. Very fun. I made the executive decision to drive back to Chicago today in an attempt to avoid the holiday traffic. Roads were empty! Back in Chicago hoping for rain so the riff raff stays out of our neighborhood for the night! Happy Fourth!!!! 🇺🇸 12
Popular Post Goldeneye Posted July 4 Popular Post Posted July 4 Spending the weekend camping in Jasper and enjoying lots of fresh air and hiking. Enjoyed a couple Trinity and Sovereign Suns around the campfire. Nice weekend to be out. 13
Popular Post Dr vonPuffenberg Posted July 4 Popular Post Posted July 4 Wrapping up a week and a half at the family lake house in northern Wisconsin. We’ve been here 84 years and I love it with all my heart. My 5 year old daughter helped me make red, white and blue tie dye on American grown and sewn T-shirts. Smoking “The American” while I grill up some brats for everyone. I love our country. Happy 4th of July to everyone! 15
westg Posted July 5 Posted July 5 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaUadrKyirv/?igsh=MXczM3BlaTVxNGgxdA== We have a little celebration as well in Australia over this weekend. Darwin, Northern Territory. This is how the locals do it. 3 1

Popular Post JPark3 Posted July 5 Popular Post Posted July 5 Managed to get a cold, so a dry 4th for me, but the fireworks have just started. 🇺🇸 8
Popular Post Duxnutz Posted July 5 Popular Post Posted July 5 Real Feel 105 degrees Fahrenheit here, just south of Cincy, grilling burgers, hotdogs et al. Grill feels cooler than the air. Hoping for plenty cigars tomorrow when the humidity rolls out. Happy 250th! Pleasantly surprised by the community lighting things on fire. 9
Popular Post Capn_Jackson Posted July 5 Popular Post Posted July 5 Fixing, cleaning, packing, painting, getting ready to put this house on the market. Didn’t do much today before heading to a friend’s pool, but we did get the mailbox and doorstep painted. Baby steps. 10
Popular Post Duder Posted July 5 Popular Post Posted July 5 Kicked off the weekend with this lovely ‘09 BRC Tubos. On the deck enjoying a gorgeous NoDak evening. Well deserved after my double at the gym as they’re closed on the 4th. 8 1

Annual Stampede Rodeo kicks-off with the Stampede Sevens fun rugby tourney. Our girls are warming up, but here's a match featuring a well costumed team - unfortunately easy to tackle, but still fun. All participants (of age) are bussed to a local country bar after today's matches to get their Stampede on. Cheers! Update: happy actual 4th! I hope all thumbs are attached. Day 2 of the 7s tourney was great. Our girls (black and yellow) finished 3rd, but an amazing time was had. Adult tourney team names varied from Brides (playing drinks in hand) to Budgie Smugglers (yeah, sorry no pix) were appropriate and day 3 is adults only. Man, I love this sport! Note: mountains in the background are bare and combined runoff and rain have led to multiple states of emergency in the province west and north of us. Cheers! 7

It's tough when you have to lift the grill lid for a burst of cool air. Lol

Garand Posted July 5 Posted July 5 I'm not American, but I enjoyed the weekend anyway with a Bolivar Royal Corona MSU ABR 19 from the Vault Series in Switzerland, Perfect! 4
Popular Post Chibearsv Posted July 5 Popular Post Posted July 5 We stayed home yesterday after a rainy day. A couple of cigars of course with the Nudie Lonsdale stealing the show. Fireworks shot off by yokels last night across the street was nuts. Every half hour for four hours was another barrage of huge loud bangs. Impressive from a bunch of drunk picnickers in a community park. Poor Tilly has PTSD. Younger daughter and SIL visiting today. Italian sausage with peppers and onions for lunch today. 5
Popular Post Dlowil Posted July 5 Popular Post Posted July 5 Celebrating America with our second annual 4th of July shindig. Family, friends, food, cigars, and fireworks. It has grown in the number of people and spectacle. Planning is arduous, but the outcome is wholesome. Watching some soccer and avoiding my wife’s home improvement antics (trying to at least ) Happy 4th everyone! 10 1

Popular Post Lfhard Posted July 5 Popular Post Posted July 5 We had friends and family over. I had a N8 Churchill with some good company. Also let my son light his first motor shell and let’s say it didn’t go well. I’ll let the video explain what went wrong haha. Was still fun although everyone sobered up after that. 2 4 1

Popular Post Ford2112 Posted July 5 Popular Post Posted July 5 These were better fireworks than last night! Lots of whales and birds and bait and fish. We ran a mile out and got all our fish in calm conditions and perfect weather! 8 1
Popular Post Capn_Jackson Posted July 5 Popular Post Posted July 5 Jealous of all the fishing and smoking. Still fixing, cleaning, packing, painting, etc over here. I did have a chance to sneak in a AF Short Story Maduro while attempting to clean up my smokers, though I wish I had time to review that Talisman so generously gifted by @alloy. I know Cody’s waiting on that review and another for our Duo series. Soon! Also, on my quick trips to Home Depot I’m stalking a filming set. Yesterday, a friend told me that a set is being built for Frisco King, starring Samuel L Jackson, a spinoff of Taylor Sheridan’s Tulsa King, basically in my backyard. Two minutes from my house. So I had to drive by and see what’s going on. Apparently they’re filming later this month, while our house is set to be on the market, so I’m wondering if it’ll raise the value of our sale! @Çnote, if we walked by the set twice a day smoking Double Coronas, in full tuxedos despite the sweltering heat, they’d have to cast us on the show, right? I’ve got it all thought out. We’ll walk by with a boombox, or at least Bluetooth speaker, blaring the White Stripes song Icky Thump every time we go by. Tuxedos, shades, and double coronas. Maybe three times a day. There’s no way in hell we won’t get on the show. That, or Samuel L will give us a good fiery cussing out! 5 1
