Early start to the holiday weekend in the city of our nation’s founding. I took the afternoon off because I had some yard work to get done, even with temperatures over 100°F and heat index 115°F+. Som

saturday will be an early rise as i have to taste all of the fraser gallop palladian wines, both Cab and Chardonnay, which will be very special. then the soccer, then the first games of the broncs, NRLW, and then the wallabies v ireland (with a cigar to be determined and my new bottle of soltera rum), then if i can find it, the broncs v cronulla. i suspect the only win for the day might be the broncs women. if i can, i'll squeeze a fish off the beach in as well.

sunday will be cleaning, packing, heading back home to Queensland, unpacking, getting depressed by the need to mow.

Will be also watching the Wallabies and the Sharks if anyone is showing it.

Plenty of burgers, hot dogs, and fireworks after

Hey Rob if you need a fish pic I just snagged this kingfish (king mackerel) off the beach while fishing for tarpon. Was fishing 40 lb. fluorocarbon leader but was lucky to hook it right in the nose so didn’t get bit off. The first run on a king fish in shallow water is just amazing.

Cheers everyone, enjoy the weekend.

Which beach are you swimming off of? We used to round the boiler off of Ocean Grille and then we’d spearfish the second, third and fourth reefs off of Riomar.

We are doing the boiler! I won’t be bringing a bottle of champagne out there like many of the others but I am very good at catching up! The water off the beach here has been great. Guys who have lived here a lot longer than I have say it is as clear as it’s been in a long time. Maybe too clear for tarpon fishing but cool to see.

My wife’s favorite food in the world, fresh snapper crudo…few hours in the fridge, olive oil, coarse salt, lemon, maybe some shaved fresno chilis. Would balance out the hot dogs.
