What's up for the Easter Weekend?

Four Day Easter Weekend is upon us here in the land of Oz 

Most of my kids are off camping or to the beach for the weekend. Dee and I have a quiet one packing for the upcoming Vietnam trip and prepping the gardens for the cooler winter months. 

I have some Maduro Nudies to test through (promising start yesterday), and I am looking forward to today's FOH Discord Video Session!  First however are a walk/gym session. Baked fish on Good Friday for us so I will prep a late lunch before turning on the big screen for the late afternoon football games.

Bachelor this weekend, wife and youngest at my oldest preparing her for a move to the Netherlands.

Relax, gym, golf and cigars. I will likely binge the Firefly Series on Hulu.

Easter Dinner will be homemade Crab Cakes and some grilled veggies. Davidoff Chef's Edition for Dessert.

Easter weekend family visits: Saturday to visit my Mother in Law in Central Illinois and hoping to be back home in time for some NCAA. Sunday brunch at my sister's house. I need to get some ham in that mix somewhere or there will be trouble. The family should be mindful of the infamous "no pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving" incident 😁

I was going to visit friends and family in Bismarck but a huge snow storm has scuttled our plans, dammit. Gonna hunker down and smoke a bunch of cigars and drink a bunch of whiskey instead. That is when I’m not entertaining my little with legos, play dough, kinetic sand, marble runs and the occasional spontaneous dance party! 😅

I started off the long weekend by hosting a get together at my place on Thursday night for some fine wine and cigars with some long-time Sydney FoH members. As usual, it was a great night of cigars, drinks and laughs. I got out my EML Sep 2014 box of Por Larranaga Montecarlos and smoked one. I must say, it was very, very nice...but not worth $US400 a stick, sorry!

My son, George came home to announce that he got engaged to his girlfriend, Vanesia during the evening. This is wonderful news, of course!

I'm going to a family get together for lunch today so that my elderly father-in-law can have a day out of his nursing home (so sorry in advance, I can't attend today's FoH Discord!). We will then congregate at my place for coffee later in the afternoon.

We are hoping to visit some wineries tomorrow on Saturday. We will be at church on Easter Sunday. I hope to finish the weekend by giving @loose_axle a catch-up call on Easter Monday.

I will be hopefully smoking 3-4 cigars this weekend. Will be having a lunch with my parents tomorrow, then will be off to watch the new Mario movie with my wife and son. Saturday we’ll be heading out bar hopping for a family members' birthday. Sunday will be Easter egg hunting for my son and will be throwing burgers and hot dogs on the barbecue.

Wife and kids are heading to the farm for some shenanigans, leaving me home alone with the 2 mutts doing some on-call work. Something tells me I'll have time for a few sticks and steaks. 😁

In Florence Italy visiting my stepdaughter who is studying here this semester. Heading to Costello di Verrazanno tomorrow for lunch and a wine tasting. Sunday heading to Rome for Easter -when in Rome, I guess! 

Had my first cigar since Sunday this morning - a brilliant Trinity Robusto on the terrace paired with a bottle of blanc de blancs provided by our Airbnb host.

Going to celebrate my birthday tonight with my wife, kiddos and my folks. Yesterday was a 'light' celebration with just my wife and kids at the local watering hole. Saturday I'm hoping to take care of some mulching in the yard and possibly sneak in a cigar later in the day. Thinking either a H.Upmann Mag 50 from 2014 (I have to give these another shot) or if I'm feeling up to a longer session a 2015 Cohiba Esplendidos. Sunday we'll be driving to my sisters place to celebrate with family from the Detroit and Lansing area.

Easter is supposed to be 100% rain in Boston. Going to check the grocery fliers and see what is on sale we can cook for Sunday. I hope to get a maiden bike ride for season on Saturday. Feels like I forgot how ride a bike it's been so long.

Doing some final clearing out of my warehouse before I hand it over to the new tenant next week. Feeling a bit strange to soon not have a place of work to go to every day. Had a bit of a scramble getting trucks to send off the last pallets to auction and to my 3PL provider. With the fuel situation and Easter short weeks, truck availability has been difficult to source, but once this is all over, I plan to take a break for a month or two.

I have some Kit Kat Chocolate Bunnies I’ll deliver to my mother 2 hours away in Montgomery tomorrow. That’ll be the highlight of my Easter Weekend. She is 81 and the one and only.
