Your best cigar experience of 2025 to date?

 

I have had a rare tough run cigar wise with the only truly standouts being a BR 109 and a superb H.Upmann Magnum 50 (2023).

I reckon I have pitched 6 cigars to open the year, the latest being a PLPC yesterday. 

Draw was fine but do you think it would stay lit

Geez.. I've only had 3 to date.  An easy pick though. The 2011 Fundy I smoked on Zoom last night.

No standouts yet for me. Even a Sig III last night was just a B+. 21 N1s are the best so far, but that’s expected at this point.

A clear winner for me: a 2015 Monte No.2. Best stick for several years. You know they can be this good but you forget exactly how it tastes.

I was smoking through some HoF cigars for my 50th birthday, so that helped:

• Crowned Heads Headley Grange Drumstick.
• Cuatro Cinco Reserva Especial
• Southern Draw Rose of Sharon and Jacob's Ladder
• Oliva Serie V Maduro 2009 (and 2008).

2013 HUHC, nothing mind blowing but all around solid cigar.

2018 Partagas E2 - Darker wrapper, was a full on flavor bomb.

I've only smoked one cigar this year so it's a short list but it was outstanding, a Robusto Trinity. Smoked it yesterday, I can still taste it in my mouth! 😍😍

2023 Mag 54 that finally came around. I really enjoyed it and didn't mind the 54 ring gauge at all. At the year mark I thought those sticks were trash. They've definitely turned a corner. There's some magic that happens after the 1yr mark and proper storage. That part always amazes me.

I'm quite lucky in that I've only smoked 5 cigars so far in 2025 and they've all been belters. ERDM Royales LCDH, H Upmann Mag 50, HDM Rio de Seco, BBF & Dip 2, all have hit the spot magnificently.
