I'm on vacation during January for the summer so I've been enjoying catching up on film from the Criterion Collection. If you're American, no doubt you would have heard of this company. This weekend's selections?

  1. The Graduate
  2. Heaven's Gate
  3. The Player
  4. McCabe & Mrs Miller

My all time favourite movie; After Hours.

How have I not heard of this Martin Scorsese film. I'll have to give it a watch for sure. Another good Scorsese film that doesn't get a lot of love is Bringing out the Dead.

Bringing Out the Dead' Gets 4K Blu-Ray Release

Make sure you are nice and relaxed before you watch it.  as it's incredibly stressful

Heard that was solid. If I could ever make it out to a show I'd love to see it. Most likely I'll have to wait til it hits the streaming services though.

Speaking of The Graduate (Dustin H) did you ever see Little Big Man? Top 5 all-time favorites.

I’m on a “Little Big Man” jag. If everyone watches it and posts a review, I will offer a CC prize. Postage paid- World wide.

@MoeFOH I’ll likely need your help…

i am still outraged that dustin hoffman was robbed of the Oscar so richly deserved for Tootsie (also surely the funniest ending to a film in history - i cannot be eating when we get to the finish or it will end up over the floor). it was a brilliant performance by one of the all time great actors. sure, ben kingsley was not bad in Gandhi but not a patch on hoffman. he was robbed. if ever there was a political decision, this was it.

Welp. Contest is on. I’ve committed from my end. Watch Little Big Man and enter to win a tin of all 5 of the Retro Series. They’re good cigars, but the tin is worth the price of entry. I’ll start a topic…

How was it? I'm a huge Dylan fan. I have been through his small hometown of Hibbing MN many times.

If you are a fan, as I am, you will enjoy it. I don't know how historically accurate it was but I liked it. The actor who plays Bob nailed him. Joan Baez not so much but that chick is hot.
