That's the 1999 Siglo XXI humidor! There's some pretty good cigars in there for sure. Only 21 were made. I think the last one sold for $1M several years back. Probably worth more than that today. Unless you've smoked a couple from it. 😁 https://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/cigar/multi-brand/siglo-xxi-millennium-humidor Screenshot for the lazy. 3 8
Popular Post laficion Posted August 23, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 23, 2024 Hello F.O.H. This article brings back soom old memories. This humidor goes back to the year 1999 and the 1st Habanos Festival where it was sold for, (at the time) $100.000 . It was sold by Habanos S.A. and the humidity was controlled by satellite. It was sold to the participants at the festival. I was there and so was Compay Secundo. I was invited by the distributors of Havana Cigars in France (Coprova), as the President of a Havana Cigar Club. Guy 14
Popular Post sergeihabana Posted August 23, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 23, 2024 The commemorative number was made by Habanos S.A in the millennium. There is no doubt that this is the largest and most expensive commemorative humidor ever created. Its retail price was US$100,000. It is also believed that this was the first official memory console that was installed with an automatic electronic temperature and humidity control system. Year of release 1998/1999. The production took two years. It was sold exclusively through Habanos S.A. at a price of 10,000 US dollars. Orders could be placed from October 1, 1998. They arrived in Hong Kong in September 1999. Humidor production 21. Rooms from 1 to 21. Packaging The humidor was designed by Mr. Orlando Corso of Gerencia Ritos, La Habana. This giant humidor, made entirely of solid cedar, measures 4 feet wide, 4 feet high and 4 feet deep. It could best be described as a closet. It weighs over 700 pounds (350 kg) and holds 20 boxes of 20 different brands, each with 100 cigars. There are a total of 2,000 cigars in each house. Humidor Siglo XXI is the first commemorative humidor, which is an electronic device for controlling humidity and temperature. You're thinking with YOUR budget. Think with HIS budget and things change. Plus, he can use it to store his sex toys when he's smoked through the collection, so there's the added value after all. 1 7

Monterey Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 I would still choose plastic bags over that mess, even if I got it for free. Completely choosing aesthetics over function. 2
Uwiik Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Have you guys noticed on the video that only the Partagas still retained a dark shiny hue on the wrapper? The rest, including the Cohiba, are looking papery dull, typical of very old cigars.
Popular Post Corylax18 Posted August 24, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 24, 2024 I believe they have one of these in the conference/smoking room at El Laguito. The original cigars are long gone, but its still a very cool piece. 48 minutes ago, Uwiik said: Have you guys noticed on the video that only the Partagas still retained a dark shiny hue on the wrapper? I've smoked cigars from the early 50's that, after 70+ years of aging, still have supple, mottled, oily wrappers. While this humidor is very cool, its about the worst possible way to store cigars. Regardless of the level of craftsmanship, these things are all seams and gaps. Unless you have a large walk in to store this thing, the cigars will deteriorate rapidly. 8

Again, a testament to the durability of Partagas. Assuming all are original sticks that came with the humidor only, the Partagas out of all the drawers being shown still show reasonable wrapper color.
Justins123 Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 More pictures from Nino’s site. Some really cool cigars in there. Some long discontinued. Some new sizes that haven’t show up elsewhere. I did always wonder about the quality of the cigars. Not the best in general back in that period. 2 1
