Third and Long.  That box you own that still sucks and looks like is  destined to be punted. 

 

You have had a minimum three from the box ..........over an extended period of time..........and they still suck.  Frustrating but you are resigned to giving them one more shot.  Otherwise they are trade/sale bait. 

 

From your collection, what fit's into that scenario?

TUE Mar 2021 Partagas Maduro No.3. Disappointing thus far, but I'll keep persevering I'd say.

Montecristo Dumas. I’ve tried one every six months or so. 4 or 5 so far. I’ll keep trying one a year but they have all been bitter boring cigars.

The LGC D No 5 and LFD Magicos Spanish regionals. I've still got 5 of each and I'm waiting a couple of years before I bother trying again.

Cohiba Robusto MAR MAR 21. They smell and look great, but bitter and terrible combustion.  Maybe they'll come around.

BSM-NOV-19 Vegas Romania Famosos that I acquired on 08/20.  They smell good and look good but, usually described aa a "rich" tasting cigar - I've smoked 4 of them about one every 6 to 10 months and they have been absolutely boring and bland.  My last smoking note said try one on 06/23.  That's come and gone and I think I'll wait until 06/24 to try another one.

Several Boxes of Monte Dantes, the 2016 EL. Thick, ugly wrappers, bad construction, bitter, metallic, acrid smoke. They're absolutely terrible in everyway possible and they haven't improved one bit since I got them. I would really have to hate some one to trade/sell them any of these.

Trinidad Coloniales 09. I really love Trinidad but these were awful until the last cigar. Well the good news is they lasted until summer 2022.  It was a veerrry looong ride, but sometimes the horse is dead.

Great question @El Presidente!  I'm going to have to rummage the cabinet on that one.  First one that comes to mind are the PL Operas. Utterly boring and uneventful so far.

Montecristo Especiales # 2 LTO NOV 21 I’ve had 4 of them and keep trying hoping one day they will change or get better but not looking so good. Don’t know why maybe just the box or something. Sad thing is I have another box with the same box code.

Partagas No.1 2017 LE, smoked about 8 so far and every one has a fireproof wrapper.

I'm just letting them age to see if they miraculously turn around. Wouldn't want to offload them to someone else as I know they have the issue.

Yup. Completely fireproof with lots and lots and lots of relights. An absolute chore to smoke. Awful cigar

Felt same way about Magicos until a few weeks ago.  After having them in humidor for 3+ years, the one just smoked was out of this world.

I had a similar experience with a box of Vigia (not as much age though). Couldn't believe I was smoking a Trinidad, gave it 3 goes from the box and then I gave them away to a friend who was more than happy with them. Tastes differ I guess.

Ahh that's good to know and you give me hope. I think they're at the 3-4 year mark now so I'll give them each a go next year and see how they're doing.

RAG MAR 18 Trinidad Fundadores.

These have been a huge disappointment. 16 and 17 were ok, despite my general dislike of ‘17 boxes but I am totally turned off to the cigar now. I’ll try them again next year but I am over it and won’t be buying anymore.

That’s not good, my last box of Fundies are RAG MAY 18. I was letting them age some before I dig in since it’s my last one. Now I really hope they aren’t a disappointment.

I bought a 25 ct of OR 2008 Mag 50 from Czar and they were excellent! Few months later I bought a EMA 08 50 Cab. Terrible since day one. Still have 30 or so left. Profile is air and light hay. If I wanted that I could get from farmers field next door and smoke in a pipe! Love Cabs but if you get a bad one its twice as frustrating.

EML May 15 PLPC

I may have smoked a third of the cab and they're not at all interesting, never mind any caramel or even burnt sugar. I've had many PLPC which deliver, but this box just hasn't.
