El Presidente Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 I was asked last week if I had any cigar codes that I live by. There are a few I thought it a good question to put to members here. Cigar codes you live by. 1. You can post one only 2. Don't re-post what someone else has already posted. 1
Popular Post jakebarnes Posted August 7, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 7, 2023 Felina No 2. Unless we are talking about ways of life related to cigars, then my code is just to be generous and not judgmental. Share with others you think might be interested and let them enjoy their own journey. 8
Popular Post Nevrknow Posted August 7, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 7, 2023 My humidors are open. No matter what the outcome. Same in life. Good or bad. It is what it is. I'm not leaving here with them. 8
Popular Post Chibearsv Posted August 7, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 7, 2023 Life's too short to tolerate a poorly performing cigar. If it's easily fixable, I'll give a small effort to fix it, otherwise into the trash and try for another one. 11
NeoGeo Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Puff, puff pass. Oh yeah, that's a different smoking forum! 🥴 For me it's - don't ever buy a certain box for the sake of impressing people, or "showing off" with. It can probably lead to a bunch of cigars that may not fit your flavor preference profile and definitely lead to financial woes! 3
JoeyBones777 Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Cigars, like life, is best enjoyed in good company! 4
Bri Fi Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 If you have a cold, you can still smoke a stogie… just don’t retrohale. 2 1
Popular Post JohnS Posted August 7, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 7, 2023 Avoid smoking in wet weather, wind or adverse conditions, if possible. An outstanding smoking experience can't be forced or manufactured. Just let it come to you and enjoy the ride, including all the 'ups and downs'! 7
targa88 Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Smoke what you enjoy! If it isn't working just stop = dump and start something else 4
Popular Post Tunkat92 Posted August 7, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 7, 2023 Don’t judge how others smoke or store their own cigars. Unless they are smoking the cedar sleeve, then bashing is fair game 5
MickVanWinkle Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Don’t go chasing waterfalls (or cigars) - they should enhance rather than rule or define life. 1
Popular Post riderpride Posted August 7, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 7, 2023 Never leave one cigar in a box. The last 2 are always for sharing. Cheers 8 1
MagicalBikeRide Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 In recent years, my relationship with cigars has been shaped by an underlying thought (or a code) that fair and reasonable pricing is central to the enjoyment - eg where I live in Ireland, a D4 is now ~$50 in local shops. It takes away from the experience when it feels like you’re on the wrong end of the deal. 3

Spend some time in Canada - you'll change your tune pretty quickly 🤣 Cheers 1 4
vinnyvega Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Anything rolled at El Laguito is a great code to live by;) 2
Popular Post X-Man Posted August 8, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 8, 2023 Respect and commitment. Never light up one if you haven’t allocated sufficient time to enjoy the full experience. 7
GaryK 54 Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Although I do enjoy smoking alone and enjoying quiet time with a good cigar and a glass, my best cigar experiences will always be found in the company of others. 3
Capn_Jackson Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Never be stingy when gifting or trading cigars. Be generous. It will always come back to you. 3 1
Popular Post Rhinoww Posted August 8, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 8, 2023 If I have a friend over, they are always offered to smoke whatever I’m smoking. If it’s good enough for me, it’s good enough to share. 5 1
Popular Post El Presidente Posted August 8, 2023 Author Popular Post Posted August 8, 2023 Take care. Self appointed experts often turn out to be grifters. 4 3
