I've been using Surfshark for a couple of years now, and I'm due to renew soon... can't say I'm unhappy overall with the service etc, but not particularly chuffed with their plan options, etc. 🤔

Anyhow, thought I'd throw it out to you good people to see what folks are using, highly recommend, best bang for your buck, and so on...

Appreciate any advice. :cigar:

Express. The only one when quizzed had absolutely no logs to show. Sold me on that point alone.

IIRC even the others with "no logs" still had personal identifiers which, with some work, "could" be traced back. Express had nothing. 👍🏻

I use Windscribe. Free for 10gb or something I only use it for FoH. Probably a bit slow.  But it’s free and it gets me here.

I currently use ExpressVPN.  I'm happy with it.  I have a Wireguard tunnel for access to certain devices on my home network.

I have also paid for another provider that was unique in its ability to provide its users Cuban IP addresses. Counterintuitive for most VPN users I know...  ;)

Why do you use VPN? I simply don't understand..

Encrypted data between your computer and any other. Preferably ran thru multiple servers so no one can spy on you. Particularly useful if you use public access Wi-Fi. Coffee shop, hotel et. al where capturing your data is child's play.

I see. I didn't know that There're purposes of using VPN except violating laws and avoiding censorship.

Here's another:  My Google account is a Google Workspace account.  When I'm in Cuba, if I open my Gmail app from a Cuban IP address (using WiFi or cellular connection) without a VPN, it triggers the below error, and on occasion, the error will result in Google signing me out of all Google services on my phone.

I use Nord VPN which was good as it came with a licence for both pc and phone. I only use it for getting on here but the times I’ve left it on you wouldn’t know you were using it speeds and everything remain seamless.

I like NORDVPN as well. Was an expressVPN customer but started having issues in Asia with them when I go there 4-5x a month.

Surfshark for me, but only with TV streaming.  Proton has one I may start using since I host with them.

Previously used ExpressVPN, but too many issues with it where I live. My 'go to' now is Astrill.

I use Mullvad. No need to worry about logs since they do not have any identifying information on me. There are multiple payment options, I chose to go with bitcoin.

Express.  @Nevrknow is correct above re encryption and no logging.

@MoeFOH please note some ISPs have problems with some VPNs.  @El Presidente posted above that Express works flawlessly for him.  If he’s using the same ISP as you, that’s a good indicator for you re VPN choice.

They live in places that censor the internet. Aussies aren't even able to access the foh website without using one

+1. Practically speaking I’m using it more as a proxy than a full VPN and only for FOH use on my smartphone. Not sure how it stacks up for those really intent on the deep levels of anonymity provided by VPNs. But Windscribe gets me here and that’s all I care about.
