I know we don't do politics here. But this less about the actual politics and more about the great game. Of Boris.

Am sitting here this morning watching a count up of the number of MPs who have resigned on the last 48 hours. 53 now, up from 48 before coffee... It's ticking up by the minute. Boris giggling about it in parliament debate.

Wondering what if anything the world makes of our games? 🙄 Our maybe the most sensible thing is not to give a monkey's.....

Dignity, integrity, honesty issues aside...

What's your media making of it?

China and Russia must be giggling. US facepalm at us? Europe just cross with us as usual. The Aussies just think this is like love Island?

@El Presidente for pres! Come back to London! I'll vote for you!

Who's next.....

Standard Tory party MO for a decade now is once a leader is too unpopular or basically lame duck they resign, someone new comes in ready for the next election.

Cameron did it, May did it, Boris should've done it but he was too much of an arrogant twit to do it so the party forced him out.

So far it works, general public considers the party cleaned up somewhat when this happens, all their ire is directed at the leader not the party itself.

Dunno if it'll work again this time, but the next election wouldn't normally be till late 2024 so they've got some time.

For my part, I hope this debacle see's Boris Johnson being the last Etonian to ever be made Prime Minister

He's the 20th graduate of Eton College to become Prime Minister. Hard to imagine they're will never be another one but then again, who knows?

So what do the good people of Britain expect from their next leader? Certainly not more of the same! But how often does it happen? When it comes to politics, personally, I try not to get my hopes up too high nor let my despair ride too low.

I hope there's a good many number of you that 'won't get fooled again' by the next lot that lead the UK...

Always remember the wise warning of the last line of the song, "Meet the new boss...same as the old boss!"

One of the key mistakes of Johnson, was to think he can endlessly mug off all and sundry with the Eton tool kit. i.e blaming others below your class, using the semantics of language to create a thousand layers of lies. Suggesting he is beyond the rules or others.

He confused how he's treated everyone in his life,  wives, girlfriends, children, employers, serfs,    and how he can the public.  Some have named him 'the greased piglet' and have marvelled in how he has evaded the law.  The reality is this is nonsense. Murdoch, the class system, the police etc etc its the cancerous system that has made him illusive to control, not!!!!! his personal attributes.

This was written about Johnson at Eton.

"Boris really has adopted a disgracefully cavalier attitude to his classical studies. [He] sometimes seems affronted when criticised for what amounts to a gross failure of responsibility (and surprised at the same time that he was not appointed Captain of the school for the next half).

"I think he honestly believes that it is churlish of us not to regard him as an exception, one who should be free of the network of obligation that binds everyone else."

If this was seen in a working class child, they would have been punished, until they corrected their behaviour...........this is the problem.  Eton is an institution that may be able to highlight a failing......they have no interest in correcting it.  The Bullingdon Boys can do what they want. even if it includes setting fire to £50 notes in front of homeless people.

Hilarious to see the slimeball's handing in their notice after the event...........what they are not telling the public, is that they will pocket over £400,000 in severance.

Labour have rightly asked them if they will refuse this money in the middle of a cost of living crisis...........spoiler alert......... they wont.

sickening

Here's a photo taken just after his speech. Not sure what I make of this cigar reference....

He's obviously smoking a pre-price increase Cohiba so is making up for it by lighting with a 50£ note.

I had to come here to learn of this. News is all about gasoline prices and drought here in California.

We quite like The Queen though.

So just to lighten the mood a touch:

----------

Her Majesty, The Queen, frequently inspects the Guards protecting Buckingham Palace.

On this occasion, it is the Irish Guards.

Her Majesty enjoys stopping and speaking to the occasional Guardsman.

HM, "You know, young man, I have a nephew in the Irish Guards."

Trooper,  "It is a small world, Your Majesty, I have an uncle who is a Queen!"

News in the US is basically saying "Boris Johnson is stepping down amid scandals...in other news, here's a squirrel on water skis."

I did read that this is the 3rd PM in a row to resign before the end of their term.  I didn't know that before today.

At least your greased piglet eventually left, we got stuck with ours until we booted him out with an election.

Eleven British PMs have resigned since the start of the 20th century, including Boris. seems a lot.

Good reason to turn off the news

Seems innate to how these people form their power dynamics. i.e. the PM is not the most powerful, they are shadowed by numerous factions that bully them and hold their premiership to ransom.  The king makers often seem to be far more powerful than the PMs

It's been very interesting of late that Steve Baker (the self styled tough man of Westminster). has frequently talked in a manner to indicate both Theresa May and Johnsons fate was in the palm of his hands,  and so it turned out to be.

This image from CWS, says it all

If Boris Johnson lied so much doesn't that make him a very good politician?

Because he's not even good at lying either.
