EAR: = Email assistance required from members. ;)

I am going to split the email below into two sections but you may only be able to answer the ifrst.

1. Outside of Cuban leaf, what is/are the leaves that you most enjoy.  Two maximum.

2. What is the "weirdest" tobacco (country/variety or both) that you have tried. How was it?

".....so as you know I have been ordering complete cigar leaf from various online sources as well seeds to grow some of the rarer varieties that are simply not commercially available. Rob, is there a certain type of tleft field tobacco leaf that you have tried and that you have said to yourself that one day you would love to blend with?"

Corojo 99 tobacco from Jalapa (primarily from Aganorsa farms)

Corojo tobacco from the Eiroa family farms in Honduras

Weirdest tobacco would have to be Costa Rican tobacco.

I really enjoy the Cuban like twang of Honduran cigars. Most unusual tobacco is probably the Colombian tobacco used in the CAO Columbia. Has a very fruity sweetness to it.

Nicaraguan that is not too strong and rolled well, like Padron, and Dominican.

Weirdest is St James Perique.  It is a pipe tobacco with incredibly intense fruit flavors. It's good, but not anything you would expect from tobacco.

I like Dominican leaf (Arturo Fuente) and Nicaraguan leaf from Jalapa, Condega and Estelí (Mombacho).

Not a big fan of Ecuadorian leaf maybe it was the Alec Bradley cigar I had but never had another.

Personally, I prefer great quality Nicaraguan leaf from the condega area. Not as strong as most Nicaraguan leaf, and when you strike quality it is honey sweet.

Weirdest tobacco and one that if I close my eyes today I can still taste is a Peruvian wild tobacco that growns surprisingly around swampy soil. Low yield and not the most attractive but the flavour! Would love to play around blending with that.

We have apparently given up the Nudie N1 secret... 🤔

I would agree that Fuente does grow the best tobacco in the DR.

One or two in mind but the weirdest has to be the fermented Kentucky tobacco use in Toscano cigars that from what I understand is also grown in Italy.

The flavor is rich, sweet, deep and it has a very pleasant aroma. I really like them but they are weird.

Even better than LFD? I only ask because probably one of the greatest NC cigars I've ever had was a very well aged Litto Gomez Small Batch. It tasted funky (funky in the best way imaginable) spiced cherry cream and was just one of those cigars that had me shaking my head I disbelief at how amazing it tasted.

Granted, I agree Fuente is overall probably the #1 DR brand but I have to recommend LFD as well because they definitely have some excellent tobacco as well!

LFD's with age are fantastic. I just don't smoke many of them. To be honest I'd say 75% of the cigars I buy and smoke are Cuban or Nicaraguan. When I do smoke a Dominican it's either Fuente or E.P Carillo. But I had a Double Ligero with about 5 years on it and it was sublime.

I’ve never had a LFD. I’ve seen them around but haven’t jumped on them. Now I will have to next time I go into my local B&M.

*For me the leaf that I have consistently enjoyed outside of Cuba has been Brazilian; sweet, cool and a good tough blending leaf. Always delivers flavor to whatever cigar make-up it's added to. The close second I've always enjoyed is Connecticut Broadleaf. GOD, how I miss Muniemaker cigars which you just can't find anymore!

*As far as "weird" tobacco I'll have to go along with Kentucky fire cured leaf used in Toscano Italian cigars. I've never enjoyed them but I smoke them once in a blue moon because I'm a Kentucky native and out of respect for that leaf. But enjoyment -? "BLAHHH"!

Weirdest - big ugly greenish Indonesian stick gifted by a well meaning mate. Strong aniseed aroma. Wasn’t great 😊
