Popular Post El Presidente Posted December 3, 2021 Popular Post Posted December 3, 2021 Just a heads up from our freight account manager at Oz Post Canada is experiencing a “severe weather event” as well as excessive volume of freight in their network which is causing delays. To the best of our knowledge freight in some locations is not being processed and sitting idle. For our Canadian brethren, we will keep an eye on the situation. If need be we will hold them here but Lisa will work with you. No, this is not a shipping thread. It is a public service announcement. 2 4

benfica_77 Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 British Columbia has been dealing with flooding for a couple of weeks now. That's where shipments flow through that come from Australia... 3
HarveyBoulevard Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 We can’t get a drop. Sorry to hear they are getting more than they’d like. A quick query on google and wow.
Hammer Smokin' Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Thanks for the update. Was wondering what was up.
karp Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Ya, thanks for the info! Was also wondering if the situation in BC was going to create a delay..
Cigar Surgeon Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 BC received a month worth of rain in a single day. And BC is not a dry place to begin with. They had 4 major highways plus the main rail line wash out. 7
SCgarman Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Send some of that rain my way! Weather has been sunny and warm in MB, South Carolina but we haven't seen any ground soaking rain in a long time, well over a month. Getting dry here. Plenty of water in the ocean just down the road, but that won't help if the pipes in the house go dry

Due to the topography of the region and the fact that water will flow under the force of gravity, what you see is what remains in the low-lying areas. There are only a few passes through the Rockies and most highways (including the Trans Can) are completely washed-out. Quite a few bare shelves in stores ahead of Christmas due to logistics issues. Cheers 🍻 1

Cheers 🍻 wasn't really being serious. we have struggled with enough horrendous floods out here to know how dangerous and destructive they can be and to wish everyone the best through it.

No worries. Completely understood the humor in your post.👍 A friend of my wife's had to be helo'd out after being trapped on the highway for 24 hrs or so. He said his kid had a blast on the lift out. Hasn't stopped talking about the rescue ever since 🤣 Here's a link to the pics of the damage from the BC Ministry of Transport. Go to page 1 for the initial pics showing the damage last month. https://flic.kr/s/aHsmX7z3bp Cheers 1
cookj1 Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 We received in excess of 1000mm of rain in November. Yes, that is over 100 cm of rain! Because train tracks were washed out and highways disappeared, Canada’s largest port can’t move product East. It has been a nightmare for many people. Petrol/gasoline is being rationed and only 30 litres can be purchased at a time. The supply chain was already under significant strain, as it has been in many parts of the world, but this has been particularly difficult for the many affected farmers whose region was hit the hardest, which is also the region in the pictures in this thread. A few months ago, this same region was sweltering under a “heat dome” where temperatures hit record Canadian levels in the high 40 degrees (46-48 degrees centigrade were recorded). It was hotter at that time than Death Valley in California. Needless to say, global warming is being blamed. 1
LLC Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 For those that don’t know metric, 1000mm is 39.5 inches. 1
