Most of us have been cacooned  to some extent over the last three months and at some time our thoughts have returned to that get away place that we really missed.

Yes, there are exotic locales that we haven't yet visited but they don't count when the chips are down. What is that special place that you missed, that you perhaps made a secret pact to spend more time in when we finally get ourselves out of this mess?

Share away and let us all travel vicariously :cigar:

Wife and i were just talking about this a few nights ago. When we got married we had a wedding on a monday (paid 200 bucks for the hall) and spent bugger all on the food etc. We blew all our money on a 5 months holiday around the world plane ticket. We're thinking of quitting our jobs and doing that again. Maybe Europe and North Africa this time. I would like to go to South America, Chile in particular, but not sure.

Otherwise, i'd definitly like to go to Antarctica and cross off all the continents from my list!

I had plans to spend around 4 weeks in Japan this fall, but I just feel lucky I didn't make any reservations or buy tickets before covid hit! I've been once before for 2 weeks but am in a place where I'd be able to take more time off than previously. Hopefully this all goes away by next year. Then again, with my new found interest in cigars Cuba has definitely piqued my interest as well :cigar:

Mate do it. My ex and I did it in 2006 . Went eveywhere. Pamplona bull run the highlight. Travelled the world for 6 months and had the best time . Everything will still be there when you get back.

I went to Havana in college for study abroad in 2013. That was my first time. It remains my favorite experience. I promised myself I would return ASAP. Goal was to get back this coming January. That doesn’t look feasible at this point. But my time will come.

So many... Want to go to Boston, Napa, Havana, Greece. We are looking forward to getting back to travel.

With the lockdown came a list of honey-do's a mile long.  My tropical paradise now is a nap or an early bedtime.

Had planned Cuba this fall, but who knows now. After working through this crap, we really need a vacation, NOT a staycation!!

Well, a golf trip with 7 buddies to Casa de Campo in the Dominican got canceled in April so that was really something I was looking forward to.  Miss going to Havana and seeing my buddies there that I have grown so close to over the last 3 years.  Other than that, I miss going into work and traveling for work.  We run golf tournaments all over the US and I miss seeing all my road family that works our other events and the vendors that I've grown to love (some huge cigar smokers).  It breaks up the year nicely when I travel 4-5 times a year for 2-3 weeks at a time.

Here is a pic of us in Havana last year at Paladar Vistamar.

I love hopping regionally to Japan and Taiwan for quick weekend getaways. Can't say I will do it more than I did in the past because I already jumped at every opportunity I had, but looking forward to being able to do that again.

Fukuoka is my absolute favorite, want to get to Kaohsiung again, and next on my list that I haven't visited is Kyoto & another visit to the Yamazaki distillery. Only place I know of where I can get a sample of the 30 year old Hibiki for reasonable prices for my brother in law.

Fingers crossed, they will be able to set up those travel corridors once these locations clear up for a bit.

Selfishly I miss my golf trips. I own a landscape construction business so they really help me hit the reset button and come back fresh and motivated....but a couple good buddies and I are driving down to Bandon Dunes in the morning for 8 rounds in 4 days. Links golf holds a special place in my heart. Outside of the U.K. Bandon is as good as it gets for true links golf.

I have a trip planned in May to return back to St Andrews and I’m really hoping the state of the world is better by then. It’s my favorite place in the entire world. During these challenging times I find myself day dreaming about my trips there.

Unfortunately I had a trip bought and paid for to dive the great barrier reef this last July. I had to resort to credit card chargeback to get refunds. Virgin Australia  has been slimey to deal with. I am hoping for July 2021 but it may not be till 2022. Still on my bucket list

Cuba again for sure. Need to check in on our nieta honoraria. Been keeping them in a few supplies through some of the mercenary e-commerce sites the operate in Cuba or ship there.

Missed the Vegas and Antwerp trips earlier this summer and thinking Greece in a a few weeks is unlikely.

And that round the world thing in 2024 with my 1M+ Delta Skymiles points, that's up in the air as well I'm sure.....

Most of all, Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. Fishing Grander Alley and hanging out there is tops for me. We've even contemplated a coffee farm up the mountain there for retirement.

We'll see how it all turns out. Cautiously optimistic.
