Score on the Secretos

Congrats to those of you who picked up the Secretos last week. 

I had the box code listed  as SOR ENE 20.  

They turned out to be :

Holy cow, this is a pleasant surprise indeed! I have purchased some vintage stock but it constitutes a very small percentage of my burgeoning collection. Now I have a new crown jewel!

Any chance this is HSA being HSA and meant to put 18 instead of 08? Or is that an 08 box code

Doesn't look like it as SMG is a 08 code but not a 18 code.

Yep, SMG was a legit code for 2008. Montes, Cohibas, Upmanns, Fonsecas and Juan Lopez from '08 had SMG factory codes.

I picked up a box of Secretos last week. I also had a crap load of boxes from SMG. Dont recall what factory but it was a star box code from 08

This will not help the rest of us that don't have those boxes, but...

I hosted a poker game just before we went into lockdown here, kicked off with cocktails, then lit up a couple of cigars to go with some whiskies during the game (in other words, a lot of noise and interference for your palate). Including a Bolivar special edition small torpedo, not bad, forget the name (or who cares, as the mighty Pigfish would say, "Friends don't let friends smoke E.L.s...")

My friend then pulled out a Cohiba Secretos from a box I sourced from Czars for his wedding about 7 years ago... There was some mix up at the time and Smithy had to dash across Brisbane to get the shipment in time, good on ya smithy. As he is an infrequent smoker he still had a couple left. 

Anyway this Secretos cut through all the previous drinks and cigars of the evening, huge volume of creamy smoke, strong meaty maduro flavour with all the voluptuousness of age (felt a bit like smoking a non-cuban like Padron or Liga Privada but completely different range of flavours of course). Probably at its peak but still had legs for at least 5 years... My cigar of the year so far. 

In conclusion ... Shame we missed out on these boxes eh??  If you enjoyed this sob story, send me a single LOL ?
