joeypots Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 I hosted a low stakes weekly poker game for about 15 years. We passed the same $20 around too many times to count. The game was really just an excuse to smoke cigars. That’s when I started to buy and hold Cuban cigars. Lately I have had a good friend come by on Friday afternoon to smoke. I supply him with a cigar and when he remembers he throws me a few $$.

El Hoze Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 agreed @bdw1984, man...what a beautiful dog! Always been a German Shepherd guy but a beautiful doberman like that is just a sight to behold. ?? 1
Popular Post Miner Posted February 28, 2020 Popular Post Posted February 28, 2020 These fine gentlemen, my Perth Band of Brothers and we meet as often as possible. There are a couple of blokes missing from the photo, we are 12 good Mates. 8
Rhinoww Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 I have a buddy who, when he turned 50 a few years ago said he wanted to smoke a cigar a week for the year. He lives very close by. We agreed we could “come as you are” after yard work etc. I didn’t quite make it every week but pretty close. He is now on the CC train as well. I have two other groups I smoke with. One is at my skeet club. I’m there 2-3 times a month. The other is a group of guys who all had a girl in the same grade school through high school class. I’ve been getting a few of them to split boxes w me. all groups I enjoy catching up with and relaxing. oh, then there are those cigars at home contemplating my navel. I do enjoy those moments of solitude especially during the summer. 1
ElJavi76 Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 @SigmundChurchill and I like to get together on weekends. Work and schedules permitting we catch up on Saturday or Sunday morning. I'm usually at a different cigar bar with friends in Friday afternoons. One of those guys didn't smoke until I introduced him to CCs. @fastkiller13 also joins us whenever possible for him on weekends. Small circles but really great guys and great times whenever we meet up. 1
jazzboypro Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 I go to a lounge with friends about 3-4 times a year. The rest of time i smoke alone while enjoying a drink and music (usually Jazz). 1
renos Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 None of my friends smoke but one of my brother-inlaws does. He lives about two hours away so we don't get together as often as we'd like but when we do the evening always ends with a smoke. We're often sharing or trading our favorites. If the night goes long and the drinks continue to flow we'll repeat a story or two, but neither of us seems to mind. I vey much enjoy smoking solo however. Something about the experience helps me do some of my best thinking.
SigSauer516 Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 I'm sad to read the posts that say they smoke alone. Part of the 'draw' of cigars is the colorful conversation with long time friends or fellow B/SOTLs we've just met. My local B&M has the same guys come in every day, sitting in the same chairs, no less! For those who smoke alone, find a B&M and make some conversation. This online community is great but there's something to be said about enjoying a cigar in the company of others who share in the passion. Just my two cents. 3
Hammer Smokin' Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 well, B&M's in the winter tend to be rather chilly .... outdoor patio's and all.
Kayslay Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 We have a group of about 5 or 6 of us in New Orleans who are enthusiastic about CCs. We usually get together 3 times a week or so. Especially Sunday mornings. We have a Cigar shop/lounge in the city that has a poor selection but a great vibe- and they don't mind us smoking CC's there, as long as we make a purchase of some sort. There are times I enjoy smoking alone too. Absolute peace. 1

Some of us introverts just need to re-charge after being with other people at work, events, etc. I’ll go to the local B&M and catch up with those guys occasionally. But most times, I just enjoy being alone. It’s like meditation. 3

The vibe I was getting was that some of the folks who were smoking alone not out of choice, but because their circle of friends did not enjoy cigars. My comments were really directed toward getting out and meeting fellow S/BOTLs. Most summer nights, I am on my patio by myself...but by choice.
MigsG Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 I got my regular golf buddies (between 3-5 guys depending on the wives/GFs moods’ LOL) into cigars a couple years ago. We smoked every weekend on the course and afterwards on the 19th hole after the round. Turned that into weekly cigar hangouts Thursday or Friday evenings with the same group, rotating between 2 buddies’ patios. I also enjoy smoking in my backyard at home, that’s a given. We’re currently enjoying both CCs and NCs alike. 2
Puros Y Vino Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Mostly solo smokes but there's a contingent of us 5-10 that meet weekly during the colder months. 2
