Just read the deep dive. Lots of love but surprising to me there were more than a few detractors. I think many don’t like them young as they are unlike almost any other Cuban and tend to be in your face strong. They mellow a bit and develop so nicely with age though. Smoked a few from ‘99-‘03 this year and all were brilliant.

I totally agree, they are one-of-a-kind in HSA's portfolio and still one of the best value for money, to me it's a no brainer.

Yes I saw a lot of comments that said they were punchy and strong and pretty straight in terms of flavor. I’m gonna have to rethink now lol. Maybe I’ll have to just age 'em.

Five years minimum but drybox one and smoke it so you can compare later. Smoked some ‘02 & ‘03s last year that blew my mind. These age to perfection. Nice pickup!

So you buy a box and discover it will benefit mightily from time down. Then you buy an aged box of the same but don't want to burn them too rapidly as the are very good but pricey. When you get some Spada Gorda to tide you over while you savor the aged sticks and wait on the young ones you will be a full blown out of control Cuban cigar a̶d̶d̶i̶c̶t̶ connoisseur.

I smoked one last month with about a year on it and it was brilliant. They smoke well young, in my opinion. They just elevate to a special level with decent age.

Yes, my 2024 was in the top 5 cigars of the year for me in 2025. I wouldn't hesitate to try them young.
