Longest Ash competition in Cuba

Have any of you gents participated? If so how long was your ash? ....It happens during the festival in Feb. @bayala I expect you to be competing!

I've always wondered about this since some cigars there's no chance of long ash. Just as much about the construction as it is smoking technique.

I did see the fast smoking competition at the Partagas Festival and I've never seen anything more stupid. Everyone was green after.

Such events as the attendant is usually carried out in the framework of competitions of slow Smoking. We can do it as part of the FOH weekend competition...

Yes, they've been doing that for a few years now, usually up on stage at the opening night.

There was a scandal a few years ago when one of the contestants tried to cheat by shoving a straightened paper-clip into the cigar before lighting.

A good friend from our group in 2017 participated in the long ash. He got absolutely crushed by the guy next to him.

As a guy who tends to end up with ashes on him 90% of the time, I did win a longest ash competition at a Toronto Megaherf years ago.   We had win smoking a PL Montecarlo.  Not an easy task.

Anytime I try to keep even a remotely long ash on any cigar it usually winds up on the carpet, my trousers, or the armchair. I smoke to relax. That looks like work.
