  Wow, I'm so sorry to learn of this...I always looked forward to his words and coverage of treasured Havana smokes of yesteryear and aged specialties. An acquaintance in the Cigar Industry had told me of Simon's illness in December last year. Sad news to hear of his passing. What a gentleman and what a loss to our Habanos worldwide community.

So sad. Regardless of his obvious knowledge and wisdom in this passion of ours, the self deprecating way he carried that knowledge like it was some sort of happy accident speaks to what a lovely humble man he must of been. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, and know I'm much the poorer for it.

How very sad. I had the privilege to meet him a few times during my sojourn in London, and to speak with Simon at length at an Ajay's Summer Party.  During our conversation, I was pleased to offer him an RA Super Ramon RE Canada as he had not tried one before, and he responded with wonderful story on the history of the Rodolfo vitola and the man behind it.

Truly, a massive loss to our community and to Friends of Habanos everywhere.  RIP Simon, you are very much missed.

Only came across him in an interview with Nic Wing I watched last week. Seemed like a great guy.
