Question About Popularity of LCDH Cigars

as a retailer I can say it's still LCDH release. Each box has second LCDH band and you can't buy if you're not LCDH.

I completely overlooked that.  I didn't think it had one on the box but that's incorrect as seen on this ULA Mar 15 box.

Boys, you are making it more complicated than it really is (not going to reply to each of the above, some argumentation is confusing things). First of all: Sure there is such thing as a "LCDH&amp

Yes, thanks @Fugu  your interpretation all makes sense to me. I wasn't aware that the HS program had come out of 5th Avenue or that the program had begun that early, so with those details I think we'r

The only three LCDH releases I've gone deep on are the Ramon Allones Superior, the H Upmann Royal Robusto, and the HDM Epicure De Luxe.  I usually have about 10 boxes of each on hand.  If I can ever get my hands on the Trinidad La Trova, I will go as deep as my American Express card will allow.

Are HDM Epicure de Luxe/Elegantes/Escogidos, Bolívar Libertador, Punch 48, Trinidad La Trova popular enough to be listed as notable examples like Upmann Royal Robustos and Ramon Allones Superiores?

Probably yes, they all seem to have a following.

Most are good and most are reasonably priced. I consider them essentially regular production in terms of availability and price. I'm a regular purchaser of many.

Personally, I am a fan of the RAS and the HUN. I found the HdM Elegantes and EDL to be no big deal and hate the HURR. The Connie B is OK, but IMO the Connie A is much better.

Cigars like the Boli Libertadores and LGC Inmensos have a ton of fans and are very limited production. I've had them both and wasn't blown away but not enough to make a final judgment. Punch 48 seems to have its fans also but again, I wasn't blown away by the few I've had.

The Party Culebras and Salomones are also fairly popular but the Salomones is on the lighter side of Partagas and probably not a cigar I'd gravitate towards. Haven't had a Culebras for awhile and I'm probably overdue. I hear they are using excellent quality tobacco in them.

I smoked through a few boxes of the 07 BGM release and also wasn't blown away. Another release that many were impressed with was the SC Murallas. Never had one, but many I know rave about it. I don't think the Oficios and the Mercaderes were as well received.

Haven't had a La Trova yet, and obviously this is very limited production and the price is a bit high for what it is. Not sure if I'm going to get to that one anytime soon unless people start raving about the next batch.

Hmmm that's interesting... But some of LCDHs are not been around for long time on 24:24 (Boli Libertadores are quite often available on 24:24 whereas LGC Inmensos isn't so far).

I've smoked one box of Superiors and found that they didn't need much time to be very good. I've had great luck with the HURR. HUCA is a great cigar, I guess I didn't realize it was a LCDH issue.

I haven't had the HdM Escogidos yet, so couldn't say. Epicure de Luxe is way better than the Elegantes.

Thanks! HdM Escogidos reviews are not still that many yet...

Upmann Connoisseur A is also Habanos Exclusive Release as well! How does HURR compare with HUCA? I currently have 6er HUCA and wonder is HURR worth to get.

I've smoked more HURR than HUCA and like the RR better. I may be in the minority, though.

Most of us favour HUCA over HURR and will review HUCA on 1st of March ?. I had Mag 46 only so far for Upmann and its flavour seems sharing Mag 46's powerful kick and mongrel flavour compared to HUCA when I read the reviews on FOH (also currently have Upmann Anejados and Partagas Series No. 1 EL 17).

I have had an HDM Elegantes and Trini La Trova. I am not sure if it was too young but I found the HDM a bit harsh tasting and the La Trova was pretty plugged and I had to ditch it.:( Got a couple more of each so will give them another go after a bit more rest.

Not got any sorry - grabbed them in a bit of a hurry from LCDH Habana Libre in September last year. Was a bit worried about fakes (particularly the La Trovas) as they were only selling these as singles but decided to pick a few up anyway.

Seems they need to be acclimatised for while... I just wonder how La Trova were only for singles not boxes in LCDH??? ?

Yeah, it did set a few alarm bells off but I was keen to try them and they had a whole section of the shop for singles. But a lot of the cigars available in singles weren't available by the box in the humidor. Oh well, four more to try out hopefully I will have better luck with the next one!

Always have RA Superiors, HDM Epicure De Luxe and H Upmann Royal Robusto in stock.

I am also a huge fan of the Bolivar Libertador.

I have some HDM Elegantes currently but they have been hit and miss.

The Punch LCDH has been good for me but I've only tried a few singles.

BL pops up from time to time but they do get scarce once in a while. Didn't see them much in 18. LCGI have only been seen once in over a year and are pretty scarce worldwide at the moment. Definitely the most limited production other than the La Trova.

Connie A is a Habanos Specialist release; Connie B is a LCDH release.

IMO there are two sides to Upmann as a marca. The Mag 46 represents one side and the Connie 1 represents the other. Mag 46 is heavy tobacco, licorice, forest floor, mongrel. Connie 1 is shortbread, sourdough, baking spice, cinnamon. The RR is most definitely on the Mag 46 side of things. And the ones I've had were very confused and undefined.

I prefer the Connie side of Upmann. I can appreciate a good Mag 46 but it's hard to get those dark flavors singing in concert. The Connie line just seems to be much more consistent.

Very true. Upmann is actually my favorite marca, and while I enjoy both sides of it, I gravitate more towards the Mag50, Connie As and Sir Winnies then anything else.

I bet this LCDH will be pretty popular. The most expensive to date as well...

The ultimate money grabber from HSA (just saw Trinidad Topes now became Trinidad's regular production robusto like what they did to Magnum 50 on the past)! ????

LGC Inmensos must be the unicorns of CC! The Connie A is my first time for trying Connie lineup other than Magnum 46 from Magnum lineup and will review Connie A on 1st of March (Anejados and Series No. 1 for 12th of March). Much agreed that Mag 46 needs to be tamed by allowing them have more ageing period for removing its harshness! ?

As far as the Connie B goes, I've tried one, not bad, but not worth the coin IMHO. For less money and the same size cigar, I can get the HdM Le Hoyo de San Juan, and I really like the blend of the San Juan.

I feel the same that I just can get more Connie As that are firm reliable great cigars with the same amount of money instead of Connie Bs. Frankly, I have already liked the pre-light scent of Upmann Connie A (no harshness at all like LGC MdO No. 4)! Cannot wait to try ?!
