  My relationship with the cost of cigars. I get it, they are expensive, but about the same as a decent bottle of wine, price of a slap up breakfast it's all paper anyway. 

 I'm at the stage where cigars, wether in my humidor, a picture online, in an online store checkout, in my hand... whatever, they have zero connection to my idea of money/value. I go to the shops for food and will not pick up a new butter because I think the 1/3 of the tub back at home will possibly last for another week....plus that's another pound saved. There simply isn't a link between them and what they cost anymore.

  I'm not cheap (Quiet at the back!), I genuinely enjoy being a bit thrifty and having a pot for a rainy day fund or a splurge. But i just don't see cigars as expensive. I know they are, my brain screams to it me, but it just doesn't sink in. It kind of wafts around in the ether before drifting away. They don't have a monetary value to me. My head just sees the nice brown sticks and it says to me: " If you want that, you just have to hand over some bits of paper or press that clicky button."

  I remember first looking at a cigar shop online about a decade ago when I first got into cigars. Looking at the price of a single Sir Winston and shaking my head, blowing my cheeks (I said quiet down at the back!) and knowing I'd never try a cigar like that, who could even justify spending that much on one cigar 

What an idiot I was back then!
