I got sucked into a Stones album, Totally Stripped, a while ago. It was their answer to the MTV stripped series. Terrific collection of songs.

We've been on a bit of a Scorpions marathon. My wife and I are both big fans.

No one does the rock ballad better.

This song goes through more transitions than a 98 point long cigar.

Celebrity Skin by Hole. It found a new audience a few years ago when it featured in the end credits of a Marvel movie. Musically speaking, it's awesome. It makes complete sense to me that Billy Corgan (of Smashing Pumpkins) came up with the riff that drives the song.

No.1 Party Anthem by Arctic Monkeys. This song utilises the famous 'Beatles Minor 4th' quite predominantly in the chorus and for me, it's a great hook. I absolutely love this song (and the album it comes from, AM).

Billy pretty much helped write that album, I believe. It has never been confirmed but I always suspected Kurt wrote the first album.

That would make sense.

Music threads like this always bring out a wide variety of tastes. It’s interesting how different people’s playlists can be. Sometimes you discover something new just by scrolling through responses. It kind of reminds me of browsing sling tv reviews, where everyone shares their preferences and experiences. What have you been listening to lately? Anything new or sticking with classics?

That is an amazing bass cover of Phil Collins' "Something Happened on the Way to Heaven". The music video has Leland Sklar playing, but the actual recording is none other than Nathan East. What a bass line!
