Mike Mecklenburg Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I like the "Shine A Light 2008" live version with Mick joining Ron and Keith on guitar. 3
Maximus64 Posted January 6 Posted January 6 This song always reminds me of my granddad and I. We were two peas in a pod. 3
WestCoastSmokin Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I love her Version of this song, you can hear the pain, the shakiness in her voice. Juan Gabriel also has his version of this song which is beautiful too. Check it out sometime! 1

Popular Post El Hoze Posted January 11 Popular Post Posted January 11 Never really thought of this, but this was the first Dead song I ever really listened to (other than Touch of Gray which was popular on the radio). The first song on Dead Set. My next door neighbor Dave (coolest dude ever, crazy deadhead) gave me a recorded tape of Dead Set in the summer of 1989 and told me to listen to the whole thing. I was 10. I took it home and was hooked. It was like listening to music in five dimensions. I had goosebumps. After 35 years of listening to bootlegs and all the curated live albums I would still put Dead Set and this version of Samson & Delilah as up there with some of the best. The interplay between the band is just killer, great intro to the world of the Dead. 6
