Yeah......I'm not buying it

I hadn't heard of "home invasions" having occurred to those affected (American and Canadian).

US diplomats in Cuba likely
had emotional concussion

Re: “Cuba health mystery: Experts perplexed by diplomats’ problems” (Page A9, Dec. 13):

Various media, including the Mercury News, have reported on the “Havana syndrome,” a strange illness experienced by American diplomats and others in Cuba.

Many possible causes have been suggested, including that some sort of beam of energy or spy secret weapon has been used to target these folks.

When evaluated by neuroimaging, some brain changes likened to those seen in people with concussion, have been detected. The effected folks also were subjected to severe harassment including home invasions, finding personal items in their homes tampered with, finding feces in their toilets and cigarettes in their ashtrays, etc.

Stress can certainly effect the brain. The most likely possibility of this cluster was mass sociogenic illness where a cohesive group develops the same or similar symptoms from emotional contagion. Hysteria conversion is well-known and such episodes occurs regularly worldwide, often inflamed by media coverage.

My conclusion is that victims experienced an emotional concussion.

What I take from this is, one or more people went on an absolute blinder, and somehow the others in the group suffered from drunken contagion.

It does smack a little of a major evening getting carried away on the sauce and ending up with a hell of a mess.

"How the hell are we going to explain this?! Especially after last time!"

"Hang on, I've got an idea..."

I read this as people just going cold turkey from Starbucks and McDonalds. Also the Americans I know take a massive amount of all sorts of non necessary medication. Is this available to them when staying in Cuba?

There's plenty of coffee, cheap/greasy meat, and little blue pills in Havana. I'm leaning towards the bender theory as well. I stayed at a casa across the street from the Hotel Capri (one "attack" site) and I had similar symptoms multiple mornings, I should have gone to the embassy and complained about the "bad ice".

I get one of those at every family holiday dinner.

That guy is a Stanford Professor? I'm not one for conapiracy theories but didn't these people get serioualy hurt? Didn't one have permanent deafness? Was it all BS? If not, I smell a large pay off and cover up.

Only thing I am thinking, as I’m trying to form an opinion, is what’s the rest of the story?  Can I ever get the whole story?  LOL

Where my thoughts are exactly. And with all parties on both sides... the whole story will probably never be had!! Although, given my personal history with these "symptoms".... hangover sounds plausible.
