The worst gifts you have received....

Recommended Posts

Yes all gifts are blessed....

I received a  CD once from mum and dad.

I asked for Neil Youngs "Harvest" album.

I received John Paul Youngs "love is in the air" album.

Worse...my mates found out. Merciless. :whip:

a long way from the worst but my mother, who really is quite innocent (many years ago, when the gay and lesbian mardi gras was first televised, she lent over to my agitated father - who was muttering that they should not be showing that sort of thing on the ABC - and said, don't worry, dear, i think you'll find that they are all hairdressers), gave me a bottle of chocolate body paint. she had no idea what it might be used for or why anyone would ever make it but thought it might be fun. rest of the family in stitches.

but a long way from the worst.

I didn’t receive it, but I convinced one of my co-workers yo get another co-worker a hampster for a secret Santa gift. That is probably on of the worst gifts you can ever get.

   Yes because they DIE----

Given a few, got my boss a neon pink eiffel tower rendering....the top was slightly different, very phallic, and it came from a sex toy shop in Paris.   I left it on his desk with a big sticky note that said " was able to get the one you wanted" and his name.

Worst gift I received, not sure it can be considered a gift though, since I paid for the membership, but was for the Tatauaje cigars Saints & Sinners membership, and they shipped up SNS Tissues! TISSUES!!!!!!

I think that was a “gag” gift, since so many SnS members seem to get their feelings hurt on a regular basis.  I agree I thought it was weird to get the tissues,  though.

It's said that parents know their children best.

After watching (part of) the love is in the air video, I'd say yours were spot on :lol3:

One year at the Christmas party my (then) employer gave out chapstick with the company logo...

They were a great company, and they did everything else right, but the Christmas party was a MAJOR flop. In retrospect, they did have really good Christmas bonuses, so perhaps it was worth the chapstick :)

Pope on a Rope. Like Soap on a Rope, but cleanses your soul as well as your body.

I’m a Rangers fan. It was a gift from a pal who supports the other lot.

He also bought me a Celtic mug.

Hilarious.

Beats poop on a rope ?

Bottle of Zinfandel that was 15 years old.  You can’t age Zinfandel and I knew it was a “what can I give him? Look here is a bottle of wine that had been sitting around forever.”

My in-laws are notoriously horrible gift givers and not just to me which is to be expected.   Every year my wife and I call her brother as well to laugh at our terrible gifts.  They do not seem to like throwing things away so they send us all their old crap to "pass it down."  Last year I received a used olive fork because I enjoyed some stuffed olives at their house while visiting.  My wife got some old candle sticks as well and both gifts found their way into the trash by night fall.  It would be one thing if they were struggling financially but he is a retired two-star general and now executive for a leading insurance/banking company.  Not saying gifts are all about the monetary value placed on them but C'Mon man! At least make it a new olive fork lol.

I’m seemingly getting a divorce for Christmas this year.  Worst or best gift ever?  To be continued....
