Ritch Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 Just having my first JL2. It's lovely. Not even aged or rested properly and it's like smoking a partagas that has been crossed with a cherry cola Oompa loompa. Think I may have a new favourite.... 3
IanMcLean68 Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 I also get what you mean. This fantastic robusto has made my favourites list too. The one I had at Havanathon last year was superb, and that put me onto them! I get orange zest and chocolate notes galore in these, and lots of full bodied spice that I can see the association you are making with Partagas. Orange essence is one of the main ingredients in cola so I get that association too. 2
Ritch Posted September 6, 2018 Author Posted September 6, 2018 The draw on this one is quite tight so I'm guessing I have a bad one..but damn it's nice. Can't wait to have a good one!
joshhooper7 Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 One of the cigars that I forgot to bring with me on deployment! Hopefully I can find some abroad

mtd057 Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 I had my first one last night and agree with all above-it was outstanding
BG1165 Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 I had the No. 1 a few nights ago. Not sure the age as it came in a Corona Gorda Sampler. I could tell it was young, but it was enjoyable. I'll certainly be grabbing a box at some point.
TBird55 Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 I really enjoy this cigar. Smoking through a cab from 13, now. I wish that I had bought several more of those cabs, when they were up on 24 24.
David88 Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 I love the JL 2 and find them very reliable. They’re not as good (for me) as a great CoRo, but they are definitely more consistent. I find they need a little bit of time though. 1
Ericbrobes Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 It's an outstanding smoke! Definitely was a sleeper, not so much anymore I think.

ayepatz Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 Don’t be greedy. Let some age. I just had a ten-year old JL2 recently that was simply breathtaking. 1
LLC Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 I’ll have to seek them out. Always good to try new things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Vortigan Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 The very best of The JL2 always puts me in mind of fruit shortcake biscuit, lovely!
SMQQKIN Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Picked up a HQ cab TRU Jun 17 about 6 months ago after El Pres started posting high regards. Grabbed a couple out of the box tonight. 1 was a bit under filled & the other about right. Smoked the better of the two & for a young cigar thought it was very good. I think a couple more years & it should be at its peak. No complaints & for the $ is a solid CC.
rcarlson Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Dang it. I have been dying to hit a good one of these. I swore them off, then I read these types of comments and reconsider. The first I had was the cherry-cola (great description). The rest very underwhelming. All from a different vendor though. Anybody else had trouble with these? I don't whether to jump in the saddle again.
Islandboy Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Just had my first one last night, all the hype is well deserved. Yet another box-worthy CC...just what I need?
