Don Draper

Dexter

Harvey Specter

And I'm really like Ed Harris's character, The Man in Black, in West World.  We need more rugged men in shows.

I was going to put Ed Harris on my list, but then I thought maybe he is too new.  But nah, he belongs there anyway.  That is very powerful character.  This past episode was his best so far.

“You think you know death...but you don’t.  You didnt recognize him sittin’ across from you this whole time.”

Great stuff.

Because it's TV characters. :)

i thought that too, but we are talking fictional beings so i have no real issue. originally, i was thinking more of a character that has helped make a tv show one of your faves.

colt mentions frasier crane - another classic. but i would also add niles. thought he was sensational.

Yep. Niles was a champ. Also really loved Frasier's interactions with his cold wife in Cheers.

Obviously, there are any number of shows with great characters. I'm another fan of Thomas Magnum, but going with the thoughts on casts, Higgins was pretty much equally integral. I'm a big fan of Lenny Henry as Gareth Blackstock in Chef! - at least the first season.

Maury Chaykin and Timothy Hutton as Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin in A&E's Nero Wolfe mysteries were two of my absolute faves.

First season was all time for me. Not to drag on too much, but Mollie Sugden / Mrs. Slocombe, John Inman / Mr. Humphries, and the rest of the cast of Are You Being Served? The Vicar of Dibley cast....

Best / Faves always debatable, but these people are all very memorable to me. And of course there are more......

I am and I will. I'm a bit off the rail at this point, so with regards to British shows, loved Keeping Up Appearances, used to watch One foot in The Grave, Waiting For God. David Suchet as Poirot is another all time for me. Been watching Father Brown since it started.

The original 'open all hours' is gold dust also. Never watch the remake.

Or Bottom. Rik Mayall and Ade Edmonson let loose - could it happen anywhere except the BBC?

Deputy US Marshal Raylan Givens.  With a tip of the hat to his antagonist Boyd Crowder.  So many great characters from Justified and the writing couldn't be more brilliant.

Frank Langella as Gabriel on The Americans. I think I could hang out with that dude. For a bit. Until he murdered me.
