you have been given the nod. the dreaded tap on the shoulder. you have the choice of one last cigar/wine/spirit/meal. you can enjoy it in perfect health, in whatever circumstances or location. but it is your last of each. one final day.

for me -

cigar - i'm thinking a hamlet big one! backups - SLR DC 01, siglo VI 03, old lusi.

wine - a great vintage of romanee-conti. the 29, 45, 59, 71 or 78, perhaps (mind you, the 45 is the only one of those i have not tried so 45, it is).

spirit - isla del tesoro rum

meal - the degustation at can roca in spain.

For me -

Cigar - Cohiba Gran Reserva Cosecha 2003 Siglo VI

Wine - Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz 1998

He's a Japanese-born Australian chef famous for his Japanese/French degustation menu. He has a restaurant in the Sydney CBD since 2000, before that he was in the inner-city suburb of Rozelle. Reservations require around 3 months to get a table.

well for me i'd say,

Cigar - Cohiba 1966 or Dip Bushido

Wine - a nice Chateau Petrus Pomerol vintage(well whatever the best vintage they have at the my liquor store)

Spirit - isla del tesoro rum (DYING to try this since you wrote that article Ken)

Meal - honestly, at home, cooking all my favorites myself. isn't that not really the best way? plus i don't think i'd be able to afford a nice restaurant after buying that Petrus! hehe

I'm conflicted with my choice of wine and food, as it will be red with prawns...........but hey whats the worst that can happen, I'm not going to die right!

Essentially wouldn't want formal dining before I die, I just want a mountain of BBQ spanish carabinero prawns smothered is sea salt, raw garlic and blended flat leaf parsley. Over looking a nice harbour somewhere nice ...... and I mean a mountain, I want the mortician to have to dig me out of the shells.

1988 Chateau Musar

1998 Chateau De Breuil Calvados 'Millesime'

2008 Party 898

Damn. Pretty sure I drank my last bottle of the '98. I only have 2 bottles left of the '99 vintage of Bin 389. :P

Some good choices so far.  DRC then Musar could easily be my choice in that order.  Still thinking on what I'd select over all.  Can't say I have any DRC on hand, but should have enough Musar for a last dinner.

Cigar - Pl legendarios or ra phoenicio (or 1966 after reading godphoenix' post). Probably the legendarios.

Wine - something simple like a vino Verde, quinta da aveleda is a favourite when in Portugal (so actually I'd have to be in Portugal as well, it doesn't seem to travel well).

Spirit - Glen Ord 28 year old

Meal - Tapas, great food and you can drag it out for ages!

Sancho Sancho (might as well draw things out a bit)

Vintage Pol Roger (largest bottle format I can get my hands on, maybe I can pip the reaper to it)

Teaninich 32 (both bottles I’ve stashed away)

If somehow still alive at that point, a filthy doner kebab (Death’s cue to crack on with it.)
