OZCUBAN Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 RIP Tom Fan of your great body of work you are a legend ,always
Akela3rd Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Great artist and someone who stuck to his beliefs. The first album was big in the UK where he was regarded as parallel to the emerging punk/new wave scene but was never as big as he was in the US after that. He was described this morning as "an unassuming legend", which I think is perfect. RIP Tom.Thunder & Lightening '75-'15 1
canadianbeaver Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/03/entertainment/tom-petty-obit/index.html RIP Great music man. For decades. CB
PigFish Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I suppose he wrote his own epitaph... God's speed mate!
David88 Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 RIP Tom Petty. I was umming and ahhhing over whether or not to see him in Hyde park this summer just gone. Sadly I made the silly decision not to go.
CrankYanker Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 RIP Tom Petty. I wish I would have seen you this last time around on tour. You will be missed but your music will live on forever.

TheLiquidGator Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I first saw Tom Petty in 1974. His band Mudcrutch was the house band at a bar in Gainesville, Florida. They would play a set at the belly up to the bar just like everybody else. Chatted with him many times. A very nice soul indeed. funny too. Good times. RIP famous Gator. http://www.miaminewtimes.com/music/gainesville-florida-tom-pettys-hometown-mourns-his-death-9718171 1
joeypots Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I'm down with the unassuming legend description. A great rock and roller who played music for his fans. The Traveling Willberrys weren't too shabby as well. A loss.
Dave001 Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 terrible loss indeed saw many fine shows dating back to 1982-1983 tour. his music shall live on forever 1

The press’ motto in the USA is “Better to be WRONG FIRST than RIGHT SECOND” Press has too much freedom in the USA with no accountability at all. Well, either Tom is dead or in really bad shape. Time to select my Cubans, Bourbon and grab my Tom Petty music collection for a marathon listening session! You expected more from the fake news bullshit machine? No surprise here
